Reviews for "First Sunshine"

Damn, this is some early millennial dnb semi jungle goodness. Really classic sounds. Reminded me of that loungy liquid sound. Drums weren't as prominent for me though. I'd have compressed and EQd them towards the front of the mix more. Not sure if your sidechaining but that bass sounds like it needs some sidechaining. It's so up front and it's kind of forcing my attention but it doesn't sound all too special to me. It's a wubby bass. Ok. Maybe some changes in those progressions would have been nice? As much as I love listening to the same bass line over and over again it's a six minute song. Bass should be as varied as the track if it's going to take center stage in the mix.

Sorry for the salty review. I loved the track but there's just minor disagreements that I'm fussing about. Really the track is slick. Really old school techy dnb :)

Yeee just the sound I was going for :) maybe I like the bass better than everyone else haha

Yeah I did have my kick sidechained, as its more of a liquid song I opted to having the kick sit above the sub rather than cut in too much

Bass variation is something I agree that this song could of done with and I'll remember this for future songs

thanks for the review quar- I mean er mutualcore :P

This combines pop hooks and emotional atmosphere to perfection. It's smooth, catchy and well produced. I really love the melodies near the end. 10 out of 5.

great to hear mate :)

Awesome song like always :) I just feel like that wobble gets repetitive. Besides that, everything is really good and I'm enjoying it!

It quickly became one of my favorite entries in this contest, and I definitely enjoyed the atmospheric/liquid drum and bass you provided. It felt very "airy" and spacey and it had a very solid structure, with the part beginning at the fourth minute being my personal pick. Good fills and transitions, I would have only brought more variations in the bass line and possibly pack some more oomph by introducing some brief sub-bass clicks here and there, reminiscent of old school jungle or even Goldie. Overall, very good job, be proud of this

Thanks alot mate, yeah it seems to be the general consensus that the chords and bassline should have had more variation, i'll remember this for future songs :)

its an honour to be compared to goldie :D

Pretty cool and nice ambient-ish DnB :D. Fits the image very well and it has that chill feeling to it. Loved the woobble bass and the instruments and samples you used were amazing. This is very well structured and very well varied as well. Felt like you could have added a bit more dynamics in the song to keep it interesting, like some variations with the bass volume and melody at certain points.

Other than that a very solid track. My favourite DnB of the contest after going through half of the submissions. Keep it up :D.
4.5 stars.

AeroMusic responds:

theres been some great dnb this contest so I'm happy you like this one so much :D
I have an awful tendency to not deviate too much from the original melody and progressions when making dnb but I'll try and switch it up more next time!
