Reviews for "Captain Ig'nant"

You turned this in as a school project?

While I think it's humorous, this seems like a controversial thing to turn in as a school assignment, but thats another issue.

The cartoon itself is funny, not LOL funny, but good enough for me to acknowledge the humor. It reminds me of the skits in The Boondocks about ignorant moments of stereotypical Black people.

The voice work seemed a little out of sync, but other than that I approve.

Oversensitivity to racism is racist.

People shouldn't feel awkward every time racial humor presents itself. Sometimes a comedian might say something really funny relative to skin color. Jerry Seinfeld once said "black guys have big dicks. That's not racist. That's a compliment." I recall another comedian; a Bo Burnham moment where he was under the spot light, turned around and was freaked out by his own shadow cast on the wall behind him. He turned to the audience and said "I thought it was a black guy." If anything he was subliminally poking more fun at Caucasians than at African Americans. It was an improvisational joke and it was never his intention to hurt anyone's feelings. It was his point to make people laugh at an ironic moment while juxtaposing it with a stereotype of "black people" we all know to be untrue.

Racism= intention. A true racist is objectively derogatory. Everyone else in question is just the victim of a finger pointer during a lapse of sensitivity or the one pointing the finger.

On the subject of intention, I gave you a seven because your intention with this animation was to be comedic. I didn't find this funny at all. The animation was really good but the cartoon itself could have appealed more to my mexican tastes. Seriously n***a. Let's get some comedy up in this bitch.

nice lol...

there's a reason why stereotypes exist, because they're true in a sense. This flash is showing negative black characteristics for what they are: fucking ridiculous. The people who purposely act out these stereotypes are the biggest enemies of the black community because their retarded actions(such as drug dealing, gang banging, having multiple kids) are being used as ammunition by the REAL ignorant fuckers(racists) to justify their hate.

If more black people would stop acting out these stereotypes, then maybe the black community as a whole will be more respected by society and decent black men won't have to put up with bullshit stereotypes.

PS: despite my profile pic, i am black. Link is badass lol

Good - Not amazing.

Lol, racial stereotypes. Great. It was fairly funny, if short. Not a fan of the voice acting, though.

I'm not sure what I think. The quality of the artwork, animation and voice acting is mint, but I didn't even smile. I get the humour, it just doesn't appeal to me, and I review subjectively. I get the whole sarcastic look on how the society (at least in the States) is right now, and I appreciate that.

Might be because I didn't understand half of what was said. I blame that on having English as my second language.
