I'm not going to overstate this games worth, but I'm not going to be mean either.
This was a heart poking game. Telling of the choice between the easy life with the hard ending, or the moderate one all the way, and the slow, crawling ending.
"This difference between a baby and an old man. The man is larger, and know more curses."
A little bit of comedy for a little bit of sadness.

Very well done. Even though some reviewers have said it doesn't add anything new to platformers, I would say that your particular deployment of the conventions of platformers is what's new.
You make implicit statements about the nature of games and life that blend the two in ways that feel like an epiphany. When the character gets "arrested" at a life stage and continues to repeat it, or even regresses, the parallels between life and game are beautifully and subtly intertwined. It's true that this exists in many or most other games but the unique way you've designed your game to emphasize it is remarkable.
If I have one thing that gave me pause, it's how meeting a girl in the adolescent stage in one of the closed off rooms automatically trapped and arrested the character with no escape. Maybe it's just because of some of the new ways of looking at problematics of male geek culture that recently came across metafilter, but for me that nudged the story a a bit toward a male geek "woe is me" way of looking at the world especially in relation to the opposite sex. I'm a male geek by the way but am trying to be a self-reflective one. It's a very small matter and I normally wouldn't say anything but your game was so sublime in other ways that I felt I should. It's almost like a game like this could transcend gender in another iteration despite the male protagonist of this one. Apologies if there was a way out of the room I missed.
