Reviews for "Sushi Infographic"

So many moronic reviewers.

Gotta love lectures on the finer points of flash animation from someone who has zero work. Or someone who gives you a lower score based on a nonsensical air-headed rant about sushi prices.

The only thing I noticed that was off was when the VO said "whether you're eating vegetarian sushi..." what appeared to be a tuna roll dropped down....

OM NOM NOM NOM!

tis' quite an Infograph you have here, made me want a health nutritious sushi snack

Hmmm...

The overall flash was good...but I have some beefs (pardon) with sushi...

1) I see the warning about mercury in fish all the time from dietary review boards, dietitians, et.al. They say to limit or avoid fish, especially shell fish, due to high mercury levels, but that doesn't address the main issue...fish wouldn't have high mercury levels if mercury wasn't polluting water ways. Fish do not naturally have high mercury levels. They get it from man-made run offs containing mercury. But instead of saying "push your local businesses and governments to clean up their act" they say "limit fish consumption, especially if you are pregnant". This annoys me to no end, because fish is an otherwise excellent source of highly bio-assimilable protein.

2) Sushi is f'ing expensive. Not to paraphrase Churchill here, but "never have so many paid so much for so little." You can easily dole out $50 at a sushi place for 2 people, and for what...? Some rice which is pennies per pound, some fish which is a bit pricey but usually only little tiny minuscule chunks of it are used in your sushi, and some veggies which are also inexpensive. It's driving factor is it's a fad, pop-culture item made, like bottle water and other crap, where folks have been suckered into paying a lot for otherwise cheap stuff. Sushi in Japan is inexpensive, because it's available every where, seafood is cheap, and folks go to sushi bars for a cheap meal. But here, it's like you're dining out at the Ritz Carlton...places charge you up the ass for the privilege of eating it. And most places don't even make it right.

Tyler responds:

lol not sure what those views on it has to do with this piece but mmm alright teehee

platitudinous and unimaginative

VA was good, however the sound was mixed poorly.
Typography animation is stale and bromidic at this point. How many more Dot Dot Dots do we have to sit through?
I understand that this was for school but the subject matter was uninteresting.

Tyler responds:

Dot Dot Dot was a typographic animation, which this is not. This is, as I stated, an infographic. The subject matter, was based upon as dictated - informational. The aim is completely different, and your review of such is irrelevant.

I'm not trying to seem defensive, but your review, as it is, is poorly constructed and offers no critique. This piece followed the direction of inspired design relative to the subject upon which it was based.

So essentially, fuck your review. Not attempting an ad hominem, but you have provided no critique, and have no art submitted yourself (meaning your review of my piece has less meaning to me), so your review is worthless.

This was nice!

Reminded me on back then when I worked in a sushi bar :D
Good times :)
Animation was perfect for such a flash and the music was enjoyable - at least I liked it :D
Keep up the good work, for now I have to pay a visit to my old working place for some sushis, you made me hungry, damnit :D
