Good but...

I must say this is a great game just making problems by mochi money hungry eyes because you only get like 2 skills if you don't buy the other groups and why don't they add combos like where you click you hit them up into the air? But yes I must say the mochi money hungry ideas causing problems yet another game.

Solidly built, but some problems

Premium content in exchange for real money seems to be a growing model in flash games, but there's a difference between giving the player some extra stuff for paying and making over half of the features unusable without paying.

From what I did see, it's a decent action platformer but fairly quickly became repetitive. Having to run back and forth between the mayor and the trader in the first stage is a bad idea, as the player's first experience with the game is nothing but backtracking.

Not bad

First of all, PainKeeper, you say there is only one stage, I assume you meant the village level.
However, after you beat the first boss, I got bored, so i did the other village one with 8 waves of grinding levels. For some reasons after that, i had access to the forest level. Perhaps the level is restricted by levels. Maybe your level was just not high enough? Or maybe the author wanted to make sure all the maps were played? who knows. Either way, just beat the 8 waves =p

Some things I think are bugged are that I cant seem to see myself losing HP in the grinding level, and my mana is constantly at 0, so I dont know when my mana are gonna be used up and all, nor can i tell that im going to die.

Second thing is, that I got my blood thief skill, but I dont seem to be healing at all. im at 3/5 i think for that skill, and its 1.5% at the bottom right, which is confusing because the skill says I gain 10% of damage dealt as hp. Either way, 1.5% or 10%, im doing around 300+ damage, I should still see myself gaining hp even if its just +3 hp per hit. Not sure if its just me.

Lastly, since I stopped at the forest level, there was another "bug" at the grinding level. You cannot do anymore "combos". Like the combo meter still works, in fact, it never gets cancels (hence I got like 400+ combos), but ONLY the first hit that lands on the enemy counts. All the spamming afterward are "dodged" or something, they just become immuned for a couple seconds.
HOWEVER, there IS a way around it for those of you who are annoyed at that stage =p I realize that the FIRST punch you throw will ALWAYS count. YES, just keep spamming your mouse button, but just a bit slowly, so you'll be constantly repeating the FIRST punch of your combos, it'll be similar to the normal spamming combos you do in game xP

--Will write more if i play more xD

Let me know if my review helps in anyway people! vote :D
And i'll decide if i'll write another one or just not waste anyone else's time if i suck x[

Great potential, but rather tarnished

For the most part, I have to echo the statements by 852054 (see review below). I encountered all of the same issues, and some are fairly large bugs that need to be dealt with. I'd feel like a jerk if I asked if there even was a Beta Testing phase, but seriously I was forced to wonder at some points during gameplay. Then again, perhaps we *are* the testing phase...

I will readily acknowledge that a whole lot of work was put into this project. I can see it in the designs of the characters, backgrounds, HUD, main UI, and so on. The animations are fluid and tight, and generally hit detection seems pretty good (sans the everything-after-the-first-hit-is-sup erfluous glitch in gauntlet rounds). The special moves, power-ups, finishers and so on are pretty great and they definitely add a real arcade feel to the overall game.

There is some very annoying yet quite logical enemy AI (can we say hit-and-run bowmen?), and I found that the difficulty curve ramped up tremendously as I wandered through the forest level. Enemy HP levels were often shockingly high for anything in the double digits, and there are too many with undeniably cheap attacks. When you're getting mobbed by several different types of enemies, there's just no strategy that doesn't include getting pounded on mercilessly as you attempt to repay the favor.

The main story is based around the fairly standard "save the girl" idea that we've seen a hundred times, but there's a deeper story that revolves around the main character that I didn't really get into as much as I would like to due in no small part to the glitches and imminent frustration they cause. The music is pretty...or exciting...or whatever is required at the time. In other words, the music fits and does its job well without taking center stage away from what really matters: the action. Sound effects are similarly - pardon the slight pun - effective, and they lend themselves well to what's going on without being too intrusive. That also includes the voice acting, which was also quite good as far as I'm concerned.

In conclusion, I really love the artistic side of this game; the aural and visual aspects really stand out. What's needed is more polish on the technical side of the game. Find and fix the bugs that take away our very important ability to view our Health, Soul, and Experience meters. Without additional tweaking, the coveted "fun factor" just isn't there when it comes to extended gameplay. When a game stops being fun, people stop playing. I can see the hidden potential for a truly impressive Flash gaming experience, but for now it is being marred by gameplay issues, the need to gravitate to a different site for additional content, and the aesthetic lack of medals here on Newgrounds that would most certainly increase interest. Best of luck!

I remember this game from a while back. I remember it was beautiful and fun. However, like a number below, I am having trouble. After the 'push to start' scree, the loading screen shows up. And the loading percent just stays at zero. I tried both Chrome and Internet Explorer, but there was no change.
If you can somehow fix that, that would be fantastic.
