The Action was almost perfect, only thing that could be better is some witty dialogue and more obstacles for them to fight from or jump to.
Try the "punched through a mountain/wall" technique that Super Mario Z uses.

It is obvious that you have learned how to use flash and how to work with sprites. If you ask me, yeah, you should continue with it. But here is my advice. Experiment with sprites and at the same time try to make something original, something without sprites.
What I didn't like about this cartoon is some of the sprites. For example, the mushroom that Mario gets at the beginning seems 8-bit while all the other sprites are 16-bit. It just seems out of the place. But that is just nitpicking
Keep up the good work, and next time I hope that you will make something with your own characters :)

Can't wait for the full version. It seemed a bit concentrated on Mario, so you might want to add a bit more of the sonic character. And was that popples theme in the background?
