Addicting, but...
...it just leaves so much to the imagination. Really, I mean that literally.
I'm forced to imagine what the combat is like because anything past the first few powerups, I simply can't afford the time to take my cursor off of hovering over the armor and weapon drop queues.
For example, I will at least be able to amuse myself for the first minute or so into a given battle by actually *watching* the shoot-outs as they take place. Past that, though, I have to keep an eye on the item drop cooldowns (and their respective upgrades as my resources pile up). If I don't, it may not seem like much but the time not used to improve my roster really start building up. This leads to a slow but inevitable loss due to the computer never stopping for anything and as such I get overwhelmed.
I would recommend that in the future, this sort of battleground mapping be avoided entirely. It is far too irritating to have to choose between constant clicking which actually helps you win and watching these robots duke it out.
The sound was well-selected. The graphics were certainly very nice (would have liked to view them more, however, as I explained). There never really seemed to be any enormous leaps in difficulty as long as talents were wisely used and on that note, I LOVED how the talents were not permanent choices. Being able to readjust them as need be was a very considerate move and I thank you for it.
The ending was...lacklustre, however. You just win and there's not even a resolution animation. Heck, a one-dialogue box via the commander would have been nice. I thought maybe I had don't something wrong when I finally beat the last level. But no, it's just barren, sending you to the level selection screen.
I enjoyed myself. I wasted many hours on this game. However, I cannot bring myself to give it any higher than a 6-star rating because of my first point dragging it down.
Sorry. =(
