Reviews for "Over The Border"

Fun but challenging

This is definitely a very fun game and the slow mo feature is awesome. I also like the upbeat music in this and hilarious Mexican and American stereotypes. But it's really tough. One of the main things bad about this game is that you have to rely on luck to get to the US. I'm fully upgraded and I can only get to about 15k away before failing. It's a little annoying to have to rely on trampolines as your ONLY form of momentum besides the inial launch. Plus if you bump into anything it screws up your momentum. Overall a good game but the inability to generate a lot of momentum keeps it from being a great game.

...damned banner

the bubblebox banner needs to be either moved or removed. it hindered the experience

Good Game but....

The adds are in quite a bad spot on screen making it harder to hit the targets and enemies, but otherwise good game

Really, really racist

This has got to be one of the most blatantly racist games I've played in a while.

Having said that, this is also loads of fun. The shooting and slow-motion elements add a whole other layer of fun to the boring old launch-and-upgrade game style. It really is quite statisfying to blow away enemies as you sail around in the air in bullet time.

But there are some flaws. First off, the launching system itself needs improvment. Maybe be able to upgrade from a catapault to a cannon? There needs to be some sort of feature that allows you more air after you're ground. A really good stretch could be ruin just by landing on a bomb. It's frustrating getting stuck behind the dead bodies of a border guard. Perhaps a strap-on bomb or something of that nature?

Still, this game is a lot of fun.

Chaz responds:

How many more people will jump on the 'racist' bandwagon? I've said it before and I'll say it again; I encourage these people to define the word online before throwing such extreme claims out there for all to latch onto.

The theme just exagerates a pre-existing stereotype and does NOT demean it; find out what the word entails before using it in what you think is the correct context.

In fact, some would say it's the complete opposite of racism and actually endears you to a character who is the hero and ultimately succeeds. I don't see many Americans calling out racism on the cops shooting donuts?? Once again, just a characature of popular culture.

neat

a classic love it! and the music superb
