Reviews for "Highway To Bliss"

Good vibes.

Nice jazzy, ambient feel. Very laid-back, wood block sets the pace, relaxed improv. keeps it in the groove. I hope more artists can take jazz in this direction. Good work. ;)

T7online responds:

Thanks for the feedback, but this isn't really jazz, rather something like bossanova/a little pop, but there's no such genre here at Newgrounds is there :P

Thanks again for reviewing :D

Excellent. But...

Mostly awesome. Love the rhodes. Love the guitar. HATE the square lead. Hate it. Don't really care for the electric piano after it either. At the beginning and the end, maybe a dash more reverb on the wood block, turn down the dry level etc, make it sound more far away. Coulda done with less chorus and more reverb (9% more maybe) on the voice. Then turn down the voice a smidge. The only drum that stuck out (besides the wood block) was the very first bass drum note. Coulda been a little darker.
Now, awesome writing. Very good song structure overall.
Check out my stuff.

T7online responds:

Great input there, i've checked out your stuff already,i like the godfather theme:)

Nice work

I wouldn't call this jazz so much as ambient, but that is a very minor detail. I love your style, a lot of your stuff has an ambient edge to it (if that even makes sense).

Some of your instrument choices weren't amazing, such as that odd synth in the middle that began to solo (although the electric piano after it was fitting). Also, I wasn't a fan of the snare rim hits (or wood block?) at the beginning and throughout the piece, they were a little distracting. Nonetheless, overall everything fit well and nothing really stood out like a sore thumb.

I also enjoyed your vocals, very soothing. It's nice to hear someone who has a matured voice, I can't stand it hearing 13 year-olds singing (or trying to death metal).

Nice music, and a nice website, too. I'm going to go and 5 all your stuff, you really deserve it. You're very underrated. Keep up the great work!!

T7online responds:

Wow, reviewed by Orr himself... just, wow.

Mature voice? But i'm only 15! :P

Thanks, i appreciate the effort :)

Chillmode...

This was preety laid back and perfect to chill on. The kind of music you put on on a small party but it will not constantly be noticed. Like it fades away and then comes back in your mind. Good. And especially when you're only 15, I like it when people don't go with the masses.

And I liked the woodblock.

T7online responds:

Thanks man, that's great you liked it :D

mellow

well i like the song overall. a nice rythem and sine relaxy fill to it. hope your voice dosen't change much unless it gets better sounding.

well i have to agree to the synths but mabie you can use something that sounds a little less computer sounding. i'm not shere what would replace them but something along the line of what you're trying to emlate.

over all it is done very well and it works well in a small get together type situation or a socal gathering.

T7online responds:

You may be right, maybe the synths are too syntethic for this track, i dunno :/

Thanks though!
