Reviews for "Santa Saw Trap"

Bad first impression.

I liked your concept, and the animation was ok for your first time... but the voice acting for jigsaw was just horrid I could barely make out what he was saying at all. Ill be nice though and vote this a 3, goodluck on your next flash if you make one I'm sure you can do better.

Definitely took some work!

Ordinarily, I might have rated this perhaps a 3 and given it 5 or 6 out of 10 for effort, but the criticism I see you've received thus far is really rather harsh. So I'm giving you 10/10 and 5/5 just to offset that. Frankly, for a first submission, I think you did a great job. Had you been submitting for years and years and years and produced something like this, I probably would've flamed you. But for a first effort, I really don't think it's half bad at all. It's criticism like some prior reviews that makes a person not even want to bother trying any more, but I think you should just ignore that. Granted, you could use some practiie, and I wouldn't lie and tell you it's really high-quality professional work just yet or anything - but just getting the gumption to start and having the nerve to subject your work for others to pick to pieces - that's worth a good solid commentation, imho. It really wasn't bad even so, I enjoyed it. Certainly things get passed on here that make this look like an all-out Spielberg production in comparison, so I say great work! Keep it up, and hope to see more from you! :-)

As for the flash itself, the material as intended was actually pretty good. The vocal mannerisms were right in-line with the movies - definitely could've been louder and sharper, but the rhythm & the challenge itself were right on-par. Kepp it up! :-)

not that bad

ill agree that the voice acting is a little under par, but not the worst ive heard. the music during the climbing scene sealed the deal for me very epic, the only other point i would like to add is that the story had potential but i felt as it progressed it felt rushed, overall great 1st i look forward to more from you

Eh,,,

Aw, mann... this shows you have potential, but ou realy need to work on this. You really could've added sound to the vid. the art isnt thatt bad, but it relly does need some work. Hope to see your vids in the future...

It's called "Prescreening"

Seriously, it doesn't even have to be an audience member, it can even be YOUR OWN GOD DAMN SELF!

Watch your flash before submitting it to ANYTHING. I find it extremely hard to believe you listened to that POOR audio recording and thought "Why, I've found the most crisp, captivating voice talent in the world!"

It's oh so kind of you to include a GUIDE TO READ what's being said. The point you begin typing said guide, should have been the point you said "I should just completely redo this."

You got front page, of that you should be proud. There's something out there for everyone, that's the beautiful thing about the world. I'll be honest, it wasn't my cup of tea. But that's not why I'm aggravated.

The full length of it is impressive, but I saw far too many short cuts taken to appreciate its length. Santa had no flow or bend to him, he seemed stiff as a board, and while his dialect didn't bother me...it IS a bit odd he sounded like he was from the South.

But let's throw out some positives, I've raged on you enough.

Music selection, superb. SCRIPT was SOLID. If I could have heard it all, I'd have been pleased with the whole story.

Final positive? YOU MADE A FLASH! Seriously, this IS an accomplishment. Plenty of people will hate it, but plenty of people will also enjoy it. Getting a response of any kind is a good thing, it shows you can stir up an audience.

Take all of your talents, strengths, and experience, and continue to grow as an artist. You've started off well, now just take some TIME. Honestly, I will respect you much more for taking the time to have a polished piece, than to have to suffer through my girlfriend begging me to turn something off when I'm trying to give it the benefit of the doubt and finish.

Best of luck to you mate :) I look forward to your next flash.
