Holiday Cheer-full

// START REVIEW

0. Hello and Merry Christmas.

1. Good Points:
* Overall plot was good. Very grounded to the season. Gives a fresh spin on a Christmas game.
* Graphics. Very nostalgic. The classic, retro feel is a nice touch. Complements the theme very well. Very well executed.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* Gameplay. The aiming mechanism was very limited. There were only 8 angles to shoot from, there wasn't an "in-between" which causes some frustration especially when an enemy gets close and out range of an angle. Weapon variety was also limited. The upgrades were really a non-factor.
* Replayability. The game, sadly, was not very engaging. It was very easy to play, even to the point of not expending a life even after the 25th level. I only played up to level 25 so that I could get the achievement and hoping that it would be a boss level.

3. Overall, this was a good effort. Just not enough variety for my taste, I guess.

Okay game

It's a funny idea and the game is kinda fun, but, like all other games like this, it gets old after a while. There were some major things I didn't like, however.
The fact that the retro 8-direction shooting is combined with mouse-aiming really ticked me off. I kept missing shots even though I was aiming right at them because the bullets don't travel in the direction of the mouse, they travel in 1 of 8 directions, whichever is closest to where the mouse is pointing. My brain kept telling me I should be hitting the target, but the aiming really screwed me up.
Not only that, but what also ticked me off is that the tree did not fully heal unless you bought the tree hp upgrade (which costs most of your money, leaving no money to use on other things). Not only that, but if the tree was destroyed, it wouldn't heal at all unless you bought the upgrade. I think there should have been a repair tree option that costs less than the upgrade so you wouldn't have to spend all your money upgrading its health.
Otherwise, it was kinda fun. I'm gonna have to give a 3/5 because of the really weird mechanics.

"Catchy"

"But a quite boring..."

disapointing...

it seems that people now think that they can jus make pixlated art and its a good game, but this proves that wrong

Smash TV

were you inspired by smash TV to make this game, to be honest while i was playing i was expecting Rudolf, with two elf women in his arms, to say total carnage i love it, well great game man!
