Reviews for "DigitalPrison"

Creative

Cool movie, and I liked the message. Also, so far I've found: Waldo, Hitler, and Julia Gillard.

wynand responds:

Yeah for some Jesus is hard to find lol =)

Nice message

I like the message and the presentation of it was great. Very light hearted and not preachy, while still getting your point across. The animation style was fitting, but the quality of it could use some improvement

Oh wow

You must be the first person to ever make an animation about the supposed evils of technology and it's horrible constraints on us. Lol, very Hollywood of you.

Of course, this animated short of yours isn't situated in reality. In the real world, technology doesn't hold us back, what holds us back is the way our society applies it. We live in a market system where only profitable digital inventions are ever realized. For every one new idea that gains a future, 10 others fail. Even if they could completely change our way of life for the better, they would still be ignored; there's no money to be made in something that removes a problem. Problems means a way to exploit people, which means easy money.

If a machine cannot replace a human being at work or sells millions by exploiting us, it's worthless. Of course, this only applies to our capitalist, competitive market society. If it were applied properly, to a society that provided for the needs of all people through the use of technology, it would free us from the bonds of mediocrity. So many useless jobs in this day and age could be phased out with the use of computers, but in a capitilist world, that removes the ability for the average joe to produce earnings, which he in turn needs to feed his family. And without that money, Joe can't buy the shit the companies are selling in the first place. So the cyclical cycle of consumption will fail as more and more machines replace us. Only in this system mind you. In a resource based economy, where money doesn't exist, it would only free us from those mindless jobs, free us to do something more productive with our time.

Technology isn't the problem, we are. All your doing is feeding the propaganda machine that tells us progress is bad, and next you'll be telling us if we all grow our own fruits and vegetables, and became "self-sufficient" communities, we'd be perfect and better off. Well, unfortunately that wouldn't meet the needs of the billions of people on this planet. Technology may be hurting us now, in this current system, but it could save us in a better system.

I still gave the movie a high review because I enjoyed it, even though I don't agree with it.

Good and smart animation.

In nowadays peoples are addicted to the Internet and modern technology. They care more about virtual world than real world.

PS: I found Wally, Hitler and Julia Gillard. I also found Jesus, but as a christian I think that using Jesus as easter egg is not very good idea.

nice animation i have seen it like 3 times but i cant find the third metal
