Check point

The only thing I don't like is that when you die you have to start from the beginning again instead of a checkpoint after the first scene.

Very neat game

Almost like a pick your adventure book. Only two problems graphics were a little bad but good for a first timer, and wish you didn't have to start from the beginning of the game. All in all not bad I would recomend it.

Nice, but could be better

This game isn't amazing overall, but it definitely has promise,
I liked the old-school adventure game idea, too-- in fact, the whole game has an old-school video game feel to it (Mario death music? XD) The story is pretty interesting, but in the dialog-heavy parts it gets rather hard to follow, not to mention there are a couple of red herrings in the plot (The princess sings the first half of a song with magical powers, and then learns the second half from her aunt... what does the second half do?) And maybe a bit more background info on the Fox and Coyote (such as, does the coyote just not notice the prince in the river? Why, in scope of the game, can't you pick the character, other than story relevance?)
Since the story isn't original (though it's good that you attributed it to the original author) maybe a little more info on its origin in comment would be nice (such as the original title). Another thing that detracted from the storytelling was the spelling mistakes in the text (the Nymph of Dance misspells her own name once) that make the story harder to follow. Since the story is so important, it should have a finished presentation.
The music fits the adventure genre well, though credits for it would be nice (I don't know if you can do that while it's still under judgement, but eventually). I did come across a glitch if you pick the coyote in the second round of decisions, where the "you did something!" fanfare would continue to play in a loop over the background music, which is really annoying. Didn't come across any other glitches, since the programming is as simple as it is (hey, programming is hard).
The art style is pretty cute, though the battle scenes were kind of strange. It looks like this is your first game, though, and with a bit more practice in flash I don't doubt the graphic style would get a lot better and more unique. You have a good start though.
But, really, the Konami code in the final boss battle? You can surely come up with something more creative in your next game. (Made me laugh, though.) And it's a bit frustrating having to restart the game completely every time you fail other than the final boss (which kept me from trying all the options to get all the endings. The one if you marry the prince also was pretty funny, which makes me think that material you write yourself would be pretty good if you want to make a sequel ^_^ ).
Sorry to leave such a long review, but I actually quite liked the game, and think with a bit more practice and polish you can turn out some really amazing flash submissions. Good luck!
