Reviews for "GM - Dragon Of The South"

this reminds me of a stroke :3

InYourDreams responds:

I'm sorry I made you remeber, you had a stroke :D

Man, you are so good. I'm not really an expert on heavy metal, because most of it is just too "heavy", in terms of production and sound. But what you've done here is captured the heart of rock, with your riffs that pan back and forth, the progression of the melody, and the solo that starts up at 2:57 - simply gorgeous! Then it all goes back to the original tune, which I have actually been humming today. Call me a fan! :)

InYourDreams responds:

OMG! thank you very much, woman!! :D... I'm actually a big fan of YOUR stuff xD... this means a lot to me (specially if it's actually not something you would normally hear or like). You girl are so freaking talented!! I love your "dear mario" song, and your work for this contest is off the charts!!
I'm really glad you like it... :)

Beautiful!
I was missing a pair of left/right rhythm guitars following the bass in the beginning, but now i see why you did it this way, since the leads fill in with some chunk off/on.
Dynamics are great, but it still hits the compressor nicely on bottom.
Of course, I've always been a fan of your multiband mix technique.

Composition as well as the solo are great- remind me of some of my favorite artists combined.
I like how you don't mind gain'ing down to get a good mix- its hard for most guitarists..

I found myself rewinding because I liked part at 0:28 and wanted it to come back around.
A few parts of the solo sounded like there were some intonation problems. But its all gravy cuz it sounded like you were super into it, which is awesome. And also it was right after a chromatic part- the psychology of which helps.
No stars off for personal preferences though of course.
Awesome song man

InYourDreams responds:

Hey Rob! thank you very much, dude! I'm glad u like it :)
If you still have some space and need more geetarz for your epic guitar collab, count me in! I would love to work with you guys! :D

This reminds me of Dynasty Warriors music personally, a love of mine. This really flowed quite well for me, which can sometimes be a problem I've found with some metal. I think the balance of the different parts could be looked at, for example the pads I find would benefit with some stereo shaping and some more vibrance. I felt like it wasn't packing as much of a punch as it could, but then I decided to turn my volume up! ;) fantastic work!

InYourDreams responds:

Thanks for the nice words, man! ^_^ ... yeah, this thing with sacrificing loudness for dynamics still doesn't convince me. It sounds great but you have to turn the volume up... I don't know... Why can't we have both? :D

Oh yeah! Reminds me of saber "rider and the starsheriffs" - a anime series from my childhood. Nice drum action and guitar sound. Maybe i would have added a little bit ore reverb - but this is just what i prefer :) Also the high guitar action from the intro sequence could have been a little bit more within the whole piece - because it just sounds so darn cool.

Best luck for you!

InYourDreams responds:

hey man, thanks 4 the review!!
Yeah, this time I didn't had enough time for the mixing... I needed to rest my ears, but the deadline was almost there, and it sounded good enough for me at the moment... When I woke up this morning and heard the song again, I thought a couple of things that I could have correct... but It was a little to late :(
I think I will correct it after the judging, cause there are a couple of things that are bothering me...
