Reviews for "XS - I Am"

nice, kinda like it. i hear some things that could be done better i think (e.g. it sounds a bit too simple in some parts) but still, the way you are making dubstep is really innovative.
nice track and worth to download (and upload; if ya don't mind of course)

Thank you! It's actually not finished yet but it won't be released for a while so I wanted to share this version with NG since youre my favorite site :)

Thanks for all the other reviews too! I have slipped on keeping up with these lately :(

I was expecting a complextro approach and got a slow DnB instead. It still sounds very good, but there isn't enough raunchiness to properly contrast the trance synths. Very interesting composition, and the drums are very good with strong panning. There could stand to be a ride on the right ear once in a while, but still a solid beat.

I totally see what you were going for here and I think you executed it well, but to speak objectively about this song as I would any other, you may have thrown a bit much reverb at the piece, most specifically the trancey synth you have doing the main motif for most of the song, and overall it seemed a bit repetitive. You positively nailed the "feels" of the song though, which is to say it sounds majestic, triumphant and borderline inspirational. Also, you did a great job with the transitions between sections and your dynamics were well done. If I may offer one more piece of advice, sidechaining the volumes of your pads, or anything realy) to the peaks of your cymbals or any other big hits would go a long way towards making your sound a bit more foreceful. This was a good track, good enough that I would hope I run across your music again.

I like the beat in this quite a bit, however there are some points in the song that feel very repetitive. There were one or two times where I wanted to fast-forward a bit, just to see if it changed. All in all it was quite a good song, but maybe a bit more variation here and there.
