Reviews for "Rigoberto, The Yak"

A bit nifty

I thought this was a bit unique, and it was interesting with how many songs and stuff were used for it. It did need improvement in a lot of areas such as how it was simply too easy to die. It seems like the yak himself has little depth, and is just a yak that moves along. I wish there could have been some means of defense against the hazards. It was just so darn easy to fall over the ledges and die. The fact that you only have two lives and no checkpoints also makes it much less enjoyable.

disapointing

background and other stage decorations were very amusing. immensely enjoyed the music. i found the response time to be a little off. i also had a lot of issues in the second level were none of the drop offs could be seen. very frustrating, to say the least.

MonoFlauta responds:

Well but its not impossible, I posted the walktrough... thanks anyway for comment :D

Not bad, not great

The music in the game is decent. I won't discuss the jumping issue as it's been covered.
My main concern is the lack of a continue feature. I'm sure it was your original intention, so I guess that's more of my personal preference, but it sure was frustrating to make it to the second chapter only to quickly be taken out and have to restart. Also, the first boss fight starts rather abruptly. I literally had no time to dodge the samurai the first time I fought him. That aside, I like the idea, so kudos to you for making a completely off the wall game.

Not that good.

The art was good and the music was fine too, but the controls.. OMG the controls.. They just suck soo much, and that's why I give you such a low score. Controls are like the most important thing in the game. To jump is ridiculously hard to manage and the enemies are just too fast even for the first level (the seagulls).
Sorry for this, but the game is pretty bad cuz of these reasons.
5/10 at most.
Z.

MonoFlauta responds:

Well i think that is not a bad control thing, its just practice... thanks anyway for the review

Would have been great...

Intentional or not, the jumping response is terrible. Also no save points the entire game just loses most play value.

the game is more of adapting to the funky system than any challenge game-wise.
