Reviews for "Operation BlackKnife"

Good game, but there's a glitch

i found a glitch when playing, in which if you so much as tapped one of the wasd keys softly, your ship had a chance of being sent rocketing in that direction at full speed, reguardless of how hard you try to stop it. this made the first hyperspace area near-impossible for me to complete... please fix this, otherwise, a good game.

I cant recreate this glitch you are experiencing and this is the first I have heard of it.... I will look into it, thanks!

Great, but needs save button

The levels are moderately long and what would really make your game better is if you could save and come back to any point in the game. Dying near the end of a long level can be very annoying.

Other than that, though , the game is very solid. one of the best spaceship shooters ive seen. keep up the good work =]

Excellent game.

I really love this game. It's imaginative, fun and challenging in all the right places. Yes. some of the levels are a little hard - but they aren't impossible and it just makes you strive to do better.

There used to be a couple of games about 10 years ago called Freespace and Tachyon - kind of remind me of those. I particularly like the level designs where you give different objectives and scenarios than just blowing things up - navigating through radiation, lighting up an unidentified craft, etc, etc. I would have liked some hittests around some of the objects though - like the space station and asteroids, so that you had to avoid them and not just be able to fly straight through them.

Okay the only reason why I'm giving this an 8 and not a 10 (because in my opinion it deserves a 10 and then some; I don't get why people are giving it such low scores) is that on the mission where you have to navigate through hyperspace, when I entered the exit portal, it lead me into a large clump of dark matter, giving my HP -4. The next level, I start on -4 HP with seemingly no way to reset back to the previous level. Hence, I'm stuck with my ship spawning in on -4 HP and blowing up. The Menu button in that screen also doesn't appear to work, so I have no choice but to start the whole game again - which is very annoying!

Other than that, a great game - and I love all the customisation and little extras you have added to it - such as the ship lights or the way the mission screen and HUD open and close; that is very cool. All in all, a very imaginative game with just one or two bugs!

Pretty good

I dunno about glitches. I did find that when I retried the hyperspace level, the progress bar disappeared so I had no idea when I was gonna finish it >.<

However, the graphics were very nice, and I found the interface (to the contrary of most reviewers here) easy to use. However, from the depth of the upgrading system, I felt the game should have been longer. Rather, I was just getting into it when it ended :/

As most games of its kind, it could have used more upgrades, more weapons, more ships, and... more missions :). Waiting on the next operation.

Great!

Really fantastic game, I enjoyed it alot. It's obvious that you have paid a lot of attention to the interface and controls(and story!), its very smooth. My biggest complaint would be that you need much much more levels in your campaign mode. I was just getting comfortable with all my abilities when it was abrubtly over. I could have played 10x the number of missions you put in, and I'd love to have the opportunity to really upgrade my ship to be totally badass - as it is, it seems we only scratch the surface, at least in campaign mode.

One other minor complaint - There is a mission where you navigate through a radiation field before encountering enemies. I really think you should put a checkpoint after you escort the repair ship (which is glacially slow) and before you engage the enemies (which I found difficult at first). This was frustrating at first until I replayed the game and focused only on heavy weaponry, after which it was a piece of cake.

Overall, I really enjoyed the game, the graphics, all the great features, and the well thought out story and quasi-realistic science.

Thanks! I'm going to try another mode now :D

Thanks, I hope you get a lot of out the other modes!
