Reviews for "Sonic Of The Dead III 1"

I actually liked this.

The animation was decent, no real weird mistakes, although some of the depth things made no sense. The ways they walked and what not. You should try to get more customs for first person sprites so you can easily pull off the '3D' scenery. Also, the Paper Mario idea for the turning around, you messed it up once...and the person below me probably didn't finish watching the animatino because they only reviewed things happening within the first scene.

The only thing I didn't really like about this is the chatting. I read all of it, so I could understand the plot, but I really didn't like how that talked 'too' much. Sometimes Knuckles and Sonic would blabber away too much, but you'd put that to a stop with Shadow. I know that the chatter helps give the characters life and all but you made Knuckles seem like a complete idiot, Sonic doesn't seem to want to do his job, and Shadow isn't the same person either. I think you should make it so that they are really them, and add humor using their personalities...

I also didn't like the backgrounds you drew in Flash...they didn't seem like they fit the atmosphere, and needed more details. The elevator was close, but it just didn't remind me too much of one...

There was this one part when you blurred the BG, and scrolled it. And in doing so, the v-cam slowed everything down. So you should probably fix that as well. Oh, and later in that same scene there was the Zombies walking extremely fast for their sprites. The sprites didn't look like it matched their speed.

I'm going to watch part 2 now, and I hope I get the same feeling from this one, this is pretty good and interesting. And left me wanting to know the rest.

Thank you for this helpful review =)

Pretty good

I rather enjoyed this. The elevator scene made me laugh when Sonic was doing his little dance.

Hey, I don't recall ever seeing a sprite of Sonic tossing a chilli dog up and eating it or was that custom made? Some of the flash made backgrounds could have been made a little better, but other than that I've pretty much enjoyed this, especially Knuckles.

Shadic15 responds:

Thank you.
The animation of Sonic eating a chili dog is custom made, but not by me ^^

needs a bit of voice acting tbh

but it's still alright, and actually pretty funny, unlike smbz... :D

Shadic15 responds:

Oh thank you, now I've being compared to smbz ^^
yeah voice-acting would be good, but I couldn't add that -.-

Plot was okay, everything else was bad.

Oh goody, sprites! If you can't draw your own graphics, you could at least align the pixels without warping, skewing, or rotating them. What's the point of it looking retro if you can tell it's constructed on a vector graphic program. The handmade graphics didn't look very good next to the pixels either, especially when they were made with default gradients, obviously poor brush-tooling, and 1pt lines.

First of all, what's with the madness day loader? Can't make your own? You could at least alter the graphics and make them relevant, although you should really just make loaders from scratch if you want them to look good.

A walk cycle should always be properly aligned with the ground, regardless of whether you animated it or not. Most of the walking was either too fast or way too slow.

It's bad enough to not have any vocal work, but to reuse the same sound effects over and over gives me the impression that the author doesn't spend much time at all on audio.

Another thing that annoys me was the use of emoticons in text. What ever happened to facial expressions? They're much easier to draw when you make your own graphics.

Breaking the fourth wall can be funny at times, but doing it so many times consecutively wasn't so humorous.

There were various spelling errors in the text, most of which were minor, but some of which confused me and took me a while to understand.

Why did the brightness and shading keep changing? You could at least find high quality sprites before making a whole movie with mismatching ones.

Sorry if I sound like a jerk, I want to be helpful and hope you can improve in the future.

Shadic15 responds:

Wel thanks. Think this is still a helpful review. You pointed out all the weak points and I must admit, you're right -____-

shaun of the dead is the most stupid movie i ever seen
