Reviews for "That storm within..."

Such high details...

*head explodes* XD I must admit, very good.
Buuuuuut, the lightning (barely) looks like fire at the tips.

It makes me ask:
1. What program did you use to make this?
2. Where can I find it?

Fatchaos responds:

Heheh, thanks a lot!

Photoshop CS3
You can buy it from various stores. Not cheap, though.

Again you outstand me with your work.

Yes yes, very challenging I would agree, the lightning must be very bright to light up almost his whole body! If that's the case, superb. If not, I think you need a little bit more time on you lighting/shading. I also feel it's just a little too bright, im disappointed because I can't see the textures and Gelorah very well- I think it's parshly his white hide and armor. see, If you blend a lighting color (Witch in this case is white from the lightning) and blend the same colors with solids, it is very bizarre, you get this effect you have in this job.

But it's so well done I can't give you anything lower then a ten. Im glad you gave it a darker background because it complements is color and makes it all the easy to see, Nice job!

Fatchaos responds:

Yes, it's the lightning that is strong enough to light his whole body, completely intentionally.

Well, I guess so... I wanted to use very strong lights on this, since the BG suggests there's no other light source at all.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful comment as well!

love it....

as with all your work there is a powerful fantasy feel but this is just awesome try your hand at flash or get someone else so you can do this awesome work justice

Fatchaos responds:

Heh, thanks a lot ^^ Well... I might give flash a shot someday, but for now, it's beyond me.

Impressive...

Looks like some sort of Sacred Guardian, paladin style combat mage...
I like it :D :P
Especially how you managed to make him look "good", as opposed to most characters with spikey bladed armor and huge horns being obviously evil..
Maybe it's the brightness of the whole image, but he seems really serene somehow, even though he has a ginormous lightning shield and heavy combat armor xD As i said, impressive. I also like the whole "old and wise" look, though i'm not sure if you did that on purpose. I think it's the eyes and the hair..

One thing though, the "lightning" does look more like some kind of magical spectral energy than real lightning, but it's cool nonetheless. Oh, and i can't help wondering if he'd look cooler with a paladin-style helmet, and perhaps some armored gloves for his wing-claws?

Looking forward to more dragony goodness from you,
keep it up!

By the way, this is an excellent counterpart to the character in "That heat within...", is that what you were shooting for? If you remember the review I left there, this is what i was hoping you'd do. Thanks :P

Fatchaos responds:

A Dragon Disciple, to be truthful.
Yes, I didn't choose wild, "neon" colors of pure white to show in his armor, so I used the design itself to show more, hm, "kindness" about him.

Being half-dragon that he is, he looks older than he is. He's actually quite young.

Yes... I had to do a little... compromise with the lightning, I merely explain it that he compresses the lightning to take a shape instead of it sparkling wildly around him, creating unwanted chaos.

Originally, he was supposed to have a full-head helmet, but it's a very tricky thing to fit to a head like that, so I went with a more original design (note the 3 spikes on his head are part of the armor). I've always thought about armoring the wings, but it's hard to find a logical, conventional solution to that, especially when you think about the fact that the wings are supposed to be very light at all times to support flying.

I'll try!

Well, funny is, it isn't really a "counterpart", though I specifically was aiming for "alikeness" in the two pictures. These two actually form a rather unusual pair.

Again, thanks for the thoughtful comment!

Would like to see some more attention to detail

Definitely looks rushed, you need more of a backdrop.

Fatchaos responds:

Yes, it only took me 10 minutes after all.

No wait.
