Reviews for "Sushi Cat The Honeymoon"

Shameless sequel

I really ejoyed the first game, and I must say the gameplay is still quite addictive. What bothers me is this game did not make any effort to be different from the first. Yeah, there may be some different powerups, but overall there is nothing new. The levels are less challenging and creative than last the first.

Awesome game... But

It's an awesome game, and I enjoyed it more than the first. If it wasn't for the fact I got stuck on the second level with the wasabi blaster thing, due to the small squares not letting me down, just bobbing up and down in them after i reached a certain size, I probably would have give you a 10/10

i got...

i got 442,150 as my grand score. :D

Fun at times, but...

Aside from having a delightful soundtrack, adorable animations and design style and the addictive nature of the gameplay, I have to point out instances where challenge is AWOL and the player is fully at the mercy of divine luck and fortune.

The first several levels skirt perilously close to being undoable from having a terrible power up which collects sushi in a straight line. Don't get me wrong, it's cute, but the radial vacuum power up from the first game was better. It was better designed considering you arrange the sushi in diagonal and circular patterns -sometimes unevenly- so a straight line sushi grabbing power up misses a lot more. Also it played into the building challenge from start to finish. The tongue feels like mandatory diversity. Straying from things that worked is evidence that innovation isn't always good.

There is an argument to be made here whether others found this more or less challenging play through, but most often it is only because they had a good outcome. So far I've only been talking about the first levels, and yet the challenge in this game is parabolic. First levels hard, middle levels easy, last levels hard beyond challenging, and though I am forced to stress again that I liked this game, that's just not good game design.

Worse the parabolic feel of the challenge is only thanks to the yarn power up in the middle levels.

Lastly, the final levels. Level 9 and last in particular, require margins of luck and timing so far removed from human guesswork that I found myself repeating these levels upwards of 10 times each. Challenge is acceptable. Testing our timing skills is acceptable, but sushi was positioned in virtually impossible to reach places and the anemic power up in the final rounds was terrible because it worked against sushi cat 9 times out of 10, especially when I was aiming for a surgically timed rebound.

I don't normally go into tangents this long, but I liked Sushi Cat so much that I thought you deserved a thorough review as to why I believe Honeymoon is a jarring experience.

Nevertheless, I am a faithful player and look forward to more of your games.

Thanks for the fun!

Very nice game but it still has snags

While playing through and enjoying the game, I ran into a problem. On the second stage of the volcano area, the cat got stuck on the rolling pins can't squeeze the cat through. It is very annoying since I technically have not lost, but there is no tilt function either.
