Reviews for "Massive War"

Massive BORE

zzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzZZZZzzZZzzZ zZz..........

I have played many games like this but this was the first that put me to sleep, I literally fell asleep on the first mission.

It has a lot of potential.....

I like what doodstormer said because he basically said everything that i could think of. Basically, you should of put some more effort in the game by putting better graphics and distribute the power of the units more evenly because I could just use tanks and it destroys everything in sight.

I second Doodstormer

I know that's a cop-out of a review, but everything he said is right. Dude knows what he's talking about.

I know but

8/10 just for the music

A noble effort.

While the game's basic mechanics are fine, I have several issues with the way the game itself looks and plays.

Firstly, your sprites are hideous. They look like at one point they were good, but you must have jpeg'd them or something, because they just look awful. The animation is also very poor, and it makes everything seem like it's happening in slow motion. The tanks' recoil is like a bad dance. The explosions must be done with sparklers considering how long they linger.
Everything in the game is utterly covered in jpeg artifacts.

The Pluto nation's ability to make zombies becomes exceedingly frustrating rather than a challenge, as they turn your units against you without any change in stats and with fully regenerated health. Perhaps consider making these 'mind-washed' units a new unit entirely, or just turning into zombies when they get converted.

On the last five missions, where the guy in the middle has bases in both directions, both enemy factions can still produce units when all their bases are destroyed, and the middle player still creates units in both directions even if all his bases in one direction are obliterated.

The campaign could use a real ending rather than just a "Well, you beat it," screen, considering the intro and backstories for the factions were done so well it puzzles me that you never bothered with a good ending 'cutscene'.

The air units also stop shooting at the enemy base at random intervals, making the air only missions a huge pain in the ass as you struggle to defend your base against the endless onslaught of enemy planes (despite the fact that they only have one base left) while simultaneously trying to get enough power to use a missile strike (which, not surprisingly, is massively ineffective)

In short: Good idea; Crap execution.
