Reviews for "Hello Worlds!"

Nice, but too repetitive

Really, it's a nice concept, but it's boooooring! (after world 2). Could be more worked, but it's a good game in general.

Not bad, but a few issues with originality.

Controls: A little loose and could use some polish, but overall, not bad. Makes sense for a platformer.

Graphics: Again, could use some polish, but not bad overall. However, you might want to talk to your artist about this: Your main game sprite is from the Flixel collisions demo (as seen here: http://flixel.org/flxcollisions/). I don't know if this was intentional or not, but you might want to put Adam Atomic's name in the credits. Taking credit for other people's art, whether intentional or not, is not cool.

Sound: Nothing to complain about here. The loop gets a little annoying, but other than that, nothing that would otherwise distract from the game.

Concept: The split-screen thing isn't completely original. I played something that's almost identical about 3 weeks ago. But I do like the twists that you've added (getting rid of the bottom screen by passing through a green door). Gets a little boring, but not too bad.

Conclusion: While the gameplay is addicting, it does need some polish. However, I am knocking you mostly for using Adam's sprite without giving credit where credit's due.

We are in process of making our own sprite. It has been difficult to get one that works well with the game. Adam knows we are using it, we will update the credits on the next version (Sunday).

Not seen this before

I liked the rewind feature, though I wish it rewound the timer too. Also, the music is buggy, it kept jumping and stopping and starting, may just have been the one track though. As Chemlisan said, it could do with a bit more colour, and personally I'd like it to be a little larger, since everything is tiny heh. It failed to hole my attention, I played through the first 3 rooms and just didn't fancy continuing, maybe some tougher challenges would pique my interest more? Overall it's good for 5 mins :)

Interesting

Definitely interesting game. The first few levels were really cool. However while I think the idea is potentially cool, I found the implementation of it to make it boring quickly. The levels were really repetetive (follow the path to the next door, then the next door), and very seldom did I have to employ any strategy in completing the levels. While it was an interesting idea, the lack of strategy seemed unfitting for a puzzle platformer.

Plusses:
The controls felt very tight and responsive
Cool idea (loved the doors theme)
Clever name

Minuses:
Levels felt dry, more "follow the path" and trial and error than strategy
Poor visuals
Coins seem tedious to get, rather than challenging

not good

too boring
