lawl Humantipede
Ahhh, yes, another delightfully sinister game parody courtesy of I-Mockery! If only the gameplay could live up to the brilliantly demented concept...
First of all, it is very bizarre to me just how much the difficulty ramps up after each level - the RvR (risk vs. reward) is way out of whack. Since extra lives come so often, I find that it's actually easier to stay on the early levels as long as possible, since it's easier to keep them clear of graves and shooting cops for 900 points each can get you 12k+ for every life you inevitably lose to the ridiculous speedy pedes. Since all point values are static except the end-of-level bonus, which isn't high enough, the game actually sort of punishes you for progression. Faster pedes + more graves leads to things getting very ridiculous very quickly.
There are a few random elements that are a little bothersome, as well. It always sucks to see roofies spawn behind a line of graves at the top of the map, where you know you'll never be able to get to them before they despawn. It would also be nice to see a "spawning" area to the left and right side of the map so you have some warning before a cop or speedy pede hop into action. As it is, standing on either side to shoot at graves, roofies, or scalpels is extremely dangerous.
Regardless, though, the game is only fun for about as long as it takes to get a few medals - the parody element is actually more fun than the game.
