Excellent
In general:
You got yourself a nicely balanced game in terms of graphics, AI, strategy etc. Graphics really fit into the whole gameplay, where the pixels ingame are referring to the oldschool style, while the higher quality menus are a more modern theme. This game is really build for strategical purposes, and it does that brilliantly. Some maps require you to sit back, relax, until you have sufficient fire power to overrun the enemy, which is rapidly losing units to other AI. Other maps require you to handle quickly, as you may be rushed by multiple enemies. Also controlling your units in a right way, flanking or retreating in time can determine a win or loss. The AI is sufficient for a good, not too frustrating game, though sometimes a bit too conservative. I didn't really experience differences in AI, like a defensive strategy, offensive strategy or rush strategy, but its existence may well be. The pace of the game is excellent as well, most maps require you a minute or 2 if you figured out how to win. The fusion of pixels was done in the right time as well.
A few downsides:
-Some maps were a little buggy. I didn't really write them down, but I became frustrated at level 13 in particular. I often found my mainbase outside the gaming area, from which I couldn't select it anymore and ran into certain death. A hotkey to select your basewould help in this case, as well as in cases where I couldn't click my main base when too much pixels were dancing on it.
-The scrolling wasn't really flying for me. It took me too much time to scroll so armies were uncontrollable. You should increase the scrolling rate or give us the option to determine the speed.
Sequel? A few ideas:
-Longer lasting armies may gain exp and increase in strength.
-Add different types of pixels, which autospawn if you choose it in a different menu, until you choose something else. Different types come with different abilities in speed, range, attack or defense power (and more?).
-Teams!
-Upgrades?
-Defensive base addons?
