Reviews for "The Koopa Hollywood Board"

Going to log my thoughts..

Loading... Still loading.... what's with the 0:800? loading.. still loading.. FINALLY got to push play. Good play on the overused actors your characters talk about. Flow was very rough, it did not flow well. I think it'd help if you shorten the time between your joke and punchlines.

It really dragged past like the first few moments. I'm still watching but I'd have a hard time keeping this open if I weren't already writing this review. And it looks like you actually put effort into this. Without the background music this conversation would be duller than Ben Stein on downers giving a speech on advanced physics.

Also, what's the point of censoring the word F&*K if you just say it aloud in the audio? If you censor it in the subtitles, it should be bleeped in the audio it would seem to me. Your audio is poor quality (both in hardware and the acting) but I wouldn't mark down so much if the script had better flow.

I give a 3/10 for raw effort. Get some laughs in there, shorten it improve the quality of jokes and timeliness and I'd give it more like a 7/10.

Eastbeast responds:

Long story short I prefer subtle humor to just another generic comedy sketch. As for the word fuck being cencored, that was so there was no explict text and I didn't have to rate it A for adult. Thanks for the review, I only made this in a day and I understand if the humor was a little dry. Otherwise I wouldn't change it for the world.

The plot is pretty entertaining.

The voicing was decent, a little unprofessional at points since you were just using computer mics, but it was good enough for this flash. The sound maxing out or having static in the background is distracting.

The single sound track got annoying as well, try changing songs when you change scenes.

The animation was... pretty lame, but whatever, you put more work into the script than anything else. Perhaps spend more time on the background if it is going to be static, or have a looping background to make it more interesting for people (the meeting could have been on a plane?).

The only other glaring mistake that I found abhorrent was the spelling mistakes... That and not writing the subtitles to what was actually said.

Phallic not falac.
Tolkien not Tolken.
Happening not happenning
Negativity not negitivity.
Musician not musicain.
Schneider not Schneiter.

All this could have been caught with some proof reading; spend a half hour and watch your flash a couple times to catch mistakes.

Oh, and you occasionally censored "fuck" without caring that it was being said out loud, and other times completely forgot to censor it. Just inconsistency there, nothing big.

You have some good potential, to make a 4+ flash all you would have to do is spend more time planning your flash, detailing the animation, proofing your subtitles and cleaning up the voices.

Eastbeast responds:

Made it in a day. Thanks for the review. Refer to my answer to the comment above you.

Hm.

Yah it was funny, it was no mario, koopa. Why was Zelda store music playing the whole time though? Kewdos. Tarantino was funny.
