Reviews for "Kees' Adventure: TLC"

First one i've played.

-Even though this was the first game in the series of Kees' Adventures that i've played it was fun and I didn't get lost in the plot.

-The menu was a lot different than i'm used to. Normally there is a click to start menu or something of that nature. You went with the classic push a button to go to the next page. That and having to use the arrow keys to navigate the menu. It falls in line with older systems of games as far as the 8-bit style. It's good that you stayed in the same line of game making instead of adding newer elements to an old style game.

-Once I actually got in to the game it had that classic 8-bit style that the flixel engine is so good for. The animation in the game was rather plain though. In a lot of the parts where people could of been doing something they were just standing still and seemed robotic. Try having more movement for characters that aren't being used by the person playing the game.

-The game was also very linear. You had to talk to person at point A. Go through the dialouge that is automatically given to you. Go get item at point B. Then bring said item back to the person at point A. It didn't create much of a challenge or create a dynamic of having choices to what you wanted to do. I'm not sure if the flixel engine will allow you to have dialouge choices that you can pick and work off of that or if it's too simple of a framework. I have yet to look into exactly how it works or tried to make anything with it.

-Getting back to the linearity of the story. It makes the game not much of a challenge and gives no replayability since if you know where something is once you will be able to find it agian. That and there weren't any multi-step tasks that you had to do. This made the tasks relatively easy and didn't require much thinking at all to complete.

-It was a fun little game to play but it didn't take long or much effort to complete. Overall just try to make the games in future installments longer with more plot dynamics that make the game more difficult. This will add more play time and the chance that people will want to come back and play it again.

Fresh and simple game

~~REVIEW~~
Ok so first off, you do have a cute little game here, i like how this game starts off with some good fonts a in the title, and just some overall good graphics, simple yet refreshing with the graphics, The game is actually a pretty cute and layed back game, funny stuff to see, and once again nice job on the fresh and simple graphics, the game at times felt glichy, like i didnt like not seeing the "CURSUR" at times, i much rather being able to click on buttons such as the start button and other times it happened, the game play was also simple which i liked you didnt have us doing lots of crazy things like some games do but just had a few good things, and just let it play off like that, now i would suggest to make it so i can click on buttons with cursur but that might just be my own personal opinion and choice, but you did have a cute game here and hope to see more soon.anyways great game.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
have the cursur be shown throughout the entire flash when doing stuff, could have just been the onetime i played but seemed to paus up sometimes not the cursur moving off the viewscreen but just pausing to me i think its the same issue of the no cursur at times just a thought.

~~OVERALL~~
Fun cute and fresh game, i had fun with this

Very easy but also fun and well done. Plus, I like the music!

kcnh responds:

hes kind of a square

An ok game but kees was painfully polite. He needs more character

kcnh responds:

Thank you for your review, I'll be sure to give Kees more character in the next episode.

honestly i feel this is a step back from the previous games in the series, KA3 being my favorite, which had awesome graphics and music. this game is like a rehash of the first one (which i also liked better) and i don't like the graphics and the music didn't really fit (felt more like something for a medieval adventure game or something). i'm really looking forward to a part 4 which hopefully builds upon part 3!

kcnh responds:

The music is called 'Saltarello', which is indeed a medieval song, so you're right on that part. I am a bit surprised to hear that you liked KA3 over this one. The graphics are more pronounced in KA3 than in KATLC, where the latter has more of a SNES style and the first one was aimed at realistic drawings. The gameplay in this one is more or less the same as the other KA games, except that it is a bit longer. What I think the reason is that you dislike this game is because it breaks with the style the previous three games have set up. I agree with that, and I will be sure to take your advice in consideration for the next episode!
