Reviews for "Gear Tower"

ehhh

ill give it a seven for decent originality, i have never played a game where you have to create a record of your mouse movement to get to the finish of a level. like with rip saw you either have to be fast at the buttons and grabbing the pinion or click on the button and hold it for a few seconds, then do the same thing on a button later in the level.

i applaud you for the time it must have taken to create the game but over all i think the recording movement coulda been done a different way

Too hard

The problem here is that you have a great thinking game that requires lighting fast reflexes. This makes it nearly impossible to get through the levels. Plus if you screw up, you have to start all over again rather than maybe undo the last recording.

Unoriginal and has bad user interface design

This is not a terribly original implementation of the "self multiple" concept pioneered by games like Chronotron, Cursor*, etc. It has better graphics and nice sound but doesn't add anything else (except maybe a plot)

I did not finish playing because the user interface has a fatal flaw that shatters my flow. Way too close to the portal you have to click to create a new instance, you have a clickable link that hijacks the user to maxgames.com. I accidentally clicked the link and not the portal and was furious. You tricked me into going to your sponsor's website. The fact this wasn't noticed by you or any of your playtesters either indicates laziness or you care more about hits/ads than having a smooth user experience.

I actually went back and discovered you don't have to click on that portal... but it is not excusable to have a clickable link anywhere on the playing field in a game that involves clicking.

There is probably some incredible innovation later on that you deserve a 10 & 5 for, but you failed to keep me playing that long.

Why the whole clone your cursor thing?

This game would've been fine, but what was the deal with the whole make a clone of your cursor thing? It just was awkward, clunky, and didn't work. Go back to the drawing board and figure out how to make the game work without the mouse cursor clone thing.
