Great platformer
Don't understand why we should still look at 8 bit graphics and listen to 8 bit music.
i haven't got a clue... 10 - 2 for 8 bit graphics and sound.

The same reason we should still look at medieval art... we still like it! If you don't, that's cool, there are thousands upon thousands of 'modern' looking games.

Good game, very addictive. More checkpoints and power ups because the first boss took forever to beat and get to.
A Master Class in Level Design
I don't feel like I'm overstating the case when I say every developer of flash platformers should play this game and take notes for how to perfectly balance a level.
It manages to be challenging (for me; 35:39 winnar!), but never, ever frustrating. All of the save points are smartly located and the enemies expertly placed so if you are like me and frequently confuse rocket with lazer it takes very little time to get back to where you should be. Even though I fell down or died from stupidity I never felt lost, or confused, or like pushing on wasn't worth it. There is no inch of wasted space, and nothing at all convoluted about the layout - it all made perfect sense and I always knew where to go next. Exceptional stuff.
Great pacing, doling out the upgrades in a way captures exactly what's great about the Metroidvania style but, again, with level design that is never sloppy or twisty for the sake of being twisty.
I loved this game.
