Reviews for "Season of War"

Extremely Poor

Words cannot describe how much of a fail this game is.

Why if you are selecting units and try to select a building it moves those units to that place you clicked? Too much hassle to deselect them...

Couldnt be bothered to finish the first level as the cap on units is too low and the goblins just mass you cause they randomly have infinite money and units...

The tutorial was okay but due to bad controls it didnt make up for it. The main screen was good.

This is a seriously problem if your main game is poorly contructed.

Xplored responds:

Why you spoil your time playing games and reviewing them if it's too much hassle to just press SPACEBAR?!

it was ok

it was an ok game for what you worked with, it was just annoying because units and buildings were so hard to select and keep track of. I probably clicked a building about 4 or 5 times before I was finally able to select it. it also seemed that the enemy created units nearly too fast, not that it was hard, but playing easy, it took me 30 mins to get through the first level because the goblins could build 10 units in like 5 seconds so I kept having to defend. I also didn't like the fact that there was a cap on the number of units you could create, because having to go back and forth constantly because my group of 10 units kept dying wasn't very fun. The units also seemed very buggy and unresponsive, they would get stuck on buildings and when I clicked on 1 enemy within a mob, they killed that 1 enemy and then just stopped attacking. Even when I hotkeyed them together, I kept having to re-select them because they got unselected out of nowhere. All in all, it's an ok game, but next time you have to make the levels more fun to play to keep people playing and you have to make it move faster so I don't have to take 30 mins to destroy 1 enemy building.

Xplored responds:

If it takes 30 mins to destroy a building...maybe it's better you let RTS to other more skilled players or that you update you computer/browser.
The other comments are shared by other players, so yes we'll work on them for the next RTS game.
It's just sad and not fair that you says "it's an ok game" then you give a 4, that it's offensive for all our hard work.

As far as RTS goes..

This was pretty meh. I mean, the controls were unresponsive and the gameplay was just so boring. I enjoyed it for the first few minutes but it lost me soon after. It's fine as it stands. I'm sure the next one will be better. :)

Xplored responds:

We'll do our best in that direction. Let's see. :D

read below

1. Annoying controls, why do i need so many keys to play the game? Why can't my mouse hitting the edge of the screen scroll around like all other good games?
2. REPETITIVE sounds and annoying AI, yep I was annoyed so much even only after 5 minutes by the same damn 2 sentences (or 3/whatever) that kept repeating every second ('as you wish my master' 'really' 'as you wish my master' 'really' 'as you wish my master' 'really' 'as you wish my master' 'really' 'as you wish my master' 'really' Ahhhhh...) The AI Seems nonexistent sometimes theres an enemy near my army and they completely ignore him or they cluster up all on one unit while getting slaughtered from a single guy. Again, the controls make microeing horrid. Idea is ok, graphics are not awesome but I guess it's alright for a flashgame.

Summary: work on AI, controls, and sound.

Xplored responds:

As you wish my master...

flash rts's rarely if ever work well

this is a good example why, poor gameplay, poor controls and just lacking in general
