Reviews for "Mad Karate Man"

lol

After a while, the background just becomes black, and it becomes boring.

A lot of the graphics of the karate man were ripped from SFIII 3rd strike. for example, the final hit is Ken's standing MK.

Outrageous!

Definitely one of the more outrageously fun distance games. I especially like the level of interactivity before and during the distance run. The upgrades are totally sensible and are fun to have and they certainly compound on one another. Like how the damage and the briefcase hit points certainly compliment each other as the upgrades go higher.

I will say it does start incredibly slow. Maybe a little too slow. But the growth is very exponential so by the time you get your one good run with lots of power, it's home free. The beginning instructions are also hard to latch on to. It took a while to get the hang of the game. I suspect a lot of players would give up after the first couple of runs not being able to do much. It's both the vagueness of the concept as presented, and also the slow climb to get to the upgrades.

The other thing this thing desperately needs is more stuff going on as the height and distance grow. Have some background animation or at least a change of the environment at each 10,000 or 100,000m or so. WIth the later upgrades it gets incredibly dull just looking at a black screen. Sure it's realistic, but the rest of the game is pretty outrageous already. So why not add in a couple more quirks along the way? It's a bundle of fun to see the things zip pass as we pummel the banker into infinity. Planes, rockets, stars, moons... anything to liven the presentation up a little.

Lastly, while the interactivity is certainly on the plus side, the variety suffers a little. Here, there is a now a platform for creative expansion. Different attacks that do different things. Attacks that specialize in either gaining height or gaining speed. Different methods of executing these moves. The possibilities are aplenty. Different enemies to fend off as well.

It's a nice little distance game that got me playing till the end. The scoring got a little ridiculous near the end and it would theoretically reach infinity (enough ninjas in between each flight to gain enough power to give even more height) but it was immense fun.

Now the challenge is to take it up a notch. Great work.

Ninjas in space.

Even without all the upgrades maxed, you get to a point in the game where the amount of ninjas available for you to kick will fill your power bar to max before the businessman even starts falling. This essentially lets you kick the guy indefinitely. I got to a height of about 20000000m before getting bored and ending the round on purpose.

You might want to consider reducing the amount of ninjas that appear in space.

Good score

90894171 points, long to get all the upgrades but with a good timing infinite score is probably possible...

Nice, but no replay value.

Right after I maxed all stats, I got 194378292m distance, 206242445m height, and 16300 kills.

Nothing much to do after that.
