Reviews for "Last Breath : Overwhelmed"

good

this game is really good the grapics upgrade etc. but the bad thing is its so freakin hard i cant beat the 2nd boss

well polished

this game was really well done. i can see why it took so long. great music... it suits the game well. physics feel right.. i think my only gripe is that the enemy fire is difficult to see some times and if i'm focused on a different enemy's fire.. or a bosses missiles.. i lose track of the regular fire.

there's good difficulty but not difficult to the point that it's not beatable. bosses give a good challenge. the difficulty definitely gets amped up after the first boss. 2nd boss gets a little hard.. especially if there's no debri around.

overall ...really well done.

Really good

A great space shooter. Music is good, graphics are good, gameplay is fun. The upgrades do not keep up with the difficulty, however, and there's not enough money to buy needed upgrades.

As far as the spelling errors someone else pointed out, they're all in the storyline intro:

Frame 1: ressources
Frame 2: civilisation

Aaaah crap lol... Typed both words in french! Thanks for the pointer!

Great game, tad repetitive.

You have succeeded in doing something a lot of people can't when they do space shooters like this: creating bullet hell without the bullets themselves being the culprits of noticeable processor lag. Seeing as how this is a failing of a lot of shooters, that alone is enough to earn you kudos in my book. In the later levels, once you start ending up with a pile of enemies sitting still and taking potshots at you, the game does start to slow down, but it's never enough to make gameplay intolerable.

My four complaints about gameplay are this:
First, the armor and shield upgrades never seem to have a noticeable effect when it comes to reducing the effectiveness of enemy weapons, especially enemies later in the game.
Second, as many people have noted, the field of fire is painfully small, and it's often difficult to line up shots. Since killing an enemy requires sustained fire and survival requires being constantly on the move, more enemies than not end up escaping, which hurts your ability to upgrade until you upgrade enough down the road to come back and kill a few more than the last time.
Third, later levels generally play the same as each other. By this I mean, dodge as much fire as possible until all enemies have appeared, and only then can you take care of the 20+-ship pileup in the center of the screen.
Fourth, bosses end up being too predictable. Once their shields are knocked out, it takes precisely 1/3 of the health gauge to restore shielding. This means that there is no element of challenge for accumulating damage while it's not shielded--you just have to dodge fire until the pattern begins again.

On the whole, however, this is extremely well-planned and prepared. Good job.

Joelasticot responds:

Thanks for the review. I appreciate that you took the time to point out the flaws that I hadn't noticed. I will get my future games tested extensively to avoid similar mistakes - but I'm glad you enjoyed the game nonetheless!

AWESOME

Good Game nicely done !!!!

One thing I didn't like about is when you finish level and you play it again for money You get barely 20$ or less...
