Reviews for "Frootza - Phantom"

It sounded very Mega Man to me. Overall, great job.

frootza responds:

Thanks man! I love the Mega Man Games. I appreciate the positive feedback.

Cool little track, it would sound cool in some kind of 8-bit platformer :)

frootza responds:

Thanks dude! Yeah, it would be cool to have it features in a game like that!

I totally imagine this in some sort of classical platform game, very interesting melody and love the way everything sounds at 1:55.

I think that this track could do with a little more of bass, the Bass drum isn't powerful enough but the bass guitar sufficient :).

I like the feel that there are different rhythmic layers (if this sentence actually makes sense).

Awesome track

frootza responds:

Akle, thank you so much!

I will consider boosting the bass. I might tweak the track at some point, mess with the EQ a bit more to boost the bass. I was experimenting with a new sound pack for the bass drums.

I'm happy that you enjoyed the melodic layering!

This was awesome! I loved the melody you used, it reminded me of a ton of old retro games. I liked the faded ending as well. And I think your bass was amazing. Good job man!

frootza responds:

Dude! Thank you so much! I'm heavily inspired by retro games. I'm really happy that you enjoyed it!

It sounds like something you'd hear in a fast paced level of one of the early Sonic games. It all flows together very well, it has a nice floaty sort of sound to it rather than something that pulses over and over again and drives you mad.

My only criticism is how you ended the track off. I think it would fit better if it faded out around the 2:35 mark or so rather than change to the slower, quieter part.

You clearly put the work into it, good job!

frootza responds:

Thanks a lot Void!

I wanted to end the track like that so you can hear how the two melodies compliment eachother ^_^

I appreciate the comparison to Sonic! I really love the early sonic game soundtracks.
