I love this to the core. It was not easy beyond hope and but still challenging enough. This is definitely way better than the other music games out there. The songs are definitely addictive. Along with the storyline, the progress the players can make along the way, and the interesting characters, this is definitely an awesome music game that stands out from the rest in terms of quality.
However, you would have seen this a lot of times, but the lag is really a huge problem. I tried it at the lowest quality, switched off the concert lights and turned off the animation. The lag is still prevailant. Even the offline version has this problem.
Other than that problem (which is, unfortunately, a big one), this game is, in my opinion, a way better substitute for those who are going through withdrawal syndromes from the music games at the arcade.

At some point, you must realize that your computer isn't good, it's a big game, can't do much about that, the flash profiler says my code takes only 1% of the total processing so that's fine, rendering is the bottleneck so I'm working on a new version with some graphic optimizations and other fixes. Hopefully that will help, otherwise you'll just need a better computer. Lots of people have no lag at all so...there's a certain threshold to be crossed.

I have not logged into NG for about two and a half years, but when I saw that you were releasing this game I was like: "Oh man I have to play this!"
I have been playing POM1 off and on for years, always as delighted to hear: "Welcome to the Punk-O-Matic, Biatch"
When I read that you were going to include bass in POM2 I was so goddamn excited.
When I played POM2 I was overwhelmed.
To conclude this humble review.
Evil-Dog, I salute you.
Just like the first Punk-o-matic but...
It's better than the first one but its not that we can always wait for the long loading forever. Good job though.
some tips
to the guy below me Poggy07, i don't know if we can believe you, if you had done a 488 note streak you would at least have the 100 and 250 note streak medals which you DON'T
for you again but also for everyone else, some tips
- are you squeezing both of your hands into a small space? you CAN change the keyboard configuration, for example you can set ERT for your left hand and BNM for your right hand which i find useful for songs in easy and normal mode. you can do this before starting a song with the option "setup keys" between "leave" and "accept"
- you are making as little as $300 in 3 hours? then you are doing something wrong. to improve this:
- NEVER play a concert if you are not sure you'll get a 'good' grade or better. you might just end up losing fans
- stick to playing the same song at concerts until you can get an 'awesome' grade on every single try, this will give you more fans and a stage item
- (optional) when you master a song to the 'awesome' grade on easy switch to normal and do the same (load the song and go in practice if you are not sure you'll get a 'good' grade on the first try), when you get it mastered to 'awesome' do the same for insane if you can
- DO NOT play 3 songs per concert. instead play 3 concerts of 1 song each, this will give you 3 times as much money and fans (and the same amount of stage items). so there is no good reason to play a 3 songs concert except for trying to get the 3 perfect songs medal
- it's your song lagging? even if you don't see the circle hit the appropriate key according to the rhythm of the songs, sometimes you'll get it right (at least it's better than letting the note go by with the lag and miss for sure)
to the author, as Poggy07 said, lag issues are the main flaw of this game, you can get 'good' and 'awesome' grades in easy and normal mode, with some luck and using my last tip you might get 500 note streaks and even perfect songs, but for the insane mode having so many more notes the lag is just waaaay too big
great game though, please keep trying to fix the lag issues, good luck!
