Parody or Tribute, it's genius either way.
I cannot speak highly enough of the work that was put forth here. Others have already gone on about the humor and the technique, so I'll try not to repeat them. What I absolutely have to mention though is that I feel this submission succeeded where so many others have failed. I've seen plenty of "dark" Peanuts cartoons, but for the most part they fall flat. They're too random or they just seem to have no point. Here, on the other hand, the characters seem to keep the same kinds of personalities, albeit in a much more raw fashion. The artwork, the mannerisms, the soundtrack and editing- it's all like watching a delightfully warped version of one of the original Schultz/Melendez cartoons.
I applaud the efforts of everyone connected with this submission. You've given us something undeniably twisted, but at the same time very sentimental in its own way. From a die-hard fan of the Peanuts, thanks for finally giving Lucy, Snoopy, and Charlie Brown a send-up that's worthy of their reputation.
