Reviews for "Zombie Riot"

ok but

I think this game needs abit better graphics and when someone shoots a zombie in the head its stomach does not bleed

ewww

I just hated a lot about this game the looks, the gameplay, uhh yeah everything as I said.

annnd 2 minutes of playing it made me instantly more bored than I already was.

VERY repetitive.

I hated the graphics and the animation, and due the fact you can't walk when you're crouching, but seriously... after a while, it got repetitive. I liked the gameplay and the fact there are a variety of weapons, but it could be much better with a few tweaks here and there.

Unplayable! :(

The game itself forces me sooner or later to move into one direction and I cannot move freely, if I can move at all, that is...

This should never happen and needs to be fixed. The game is ruined by this. Nothing bugs me more than a fine game with a bug causing me not to enjoy it.

And because of the fact that the graphics are fine and from what I see the game is decent, I'll give it a 3/5 and a 4/10. (I was thinking of rating even lower, but the reason of my low rating is the bug, not a bad game, therefore, I'm trying to be fair.)

The game doesn't deserve a zero, but it definetly needs to be fixed and I urge you to do so, because I want to play this.

It was okay, until

You implemented that incredibly annoying timed event.

I have to be honest, I felt like that was a dick move.

Also, the design of the main protaganist struck me as weird - what is he, sixty? - the guns felt off and did not do anywhere near the damage that I felt they should (it should not take 12-13 shots with a shotgun to kill a zombie), and all the combat became very boring once I found out that kangaroo hopping everywhere effectively broke the game, since the zombies failed to hit me. I was irritated by the fact that the gun aims high of the cursor, and the final boss - who reminded me too much of the cyberdemon from Doom - could just be spammed with gunfire, and I freely allowed him to take four lives while I mercilessly bludgeoned him with lead. Nothing else really came close.

The backgrounds were relatively detailed, and I was pleased until I finished the first wave and found that they looped like a Flintstones cartoon. The character model for the protaganist seemed to stand out fromt he rest of the scenery in a manner that was jarring, and the edges seemed more pixelated than the backgrounds.

The worst part was trying to move from room to room. I understand what you were trying for, but having to sit through wave after wave, not even being allowed to just bypass the tedious horde that I have already destroyed eighteen times before... It wore thin very quickly. You needed to add more variety to your gameplay, instead of just the "walk ten feet, and inexplicably get forced to fight zombies for a minute" ordeal.

Finally there is the map. Yes, while I recognize that there is a map, not only is it rather poorly organized, but it requires one to entire the pause menu. Normally, I won't open the pause menu unless I have to leave my computer. Luckily I did, or I would have never know that the map was there, having skipped through the tutorial like I'm sure most players did. The point is, the map needed to be more readily available. You could have also done what most games in this genre do, and have a little arrow pop up above the character to let them know where to go.

Finally - and this last point is likely just me being a black-hearted bitch - you stated that there was a "wide range of various guns" to use. There were four. Normally I wouldn't make a point out of something like this, but I feel like you implied there were more, given how in the comments you stated that the keys to switch weapons were "1,2,3,4, ETC." The etcetera implies there were more than four. There were not.

Have a good night.
