Reviews for "The Insanity"

Mediocre.

Mediocre story. Not much effort has been put into the writing. I've seen most of it before. Actual gameplay was average. Monster attacks were boring and not scary. And the machine.... Oh god the machine.... Were you high? Did you have some kind of mental breakdown? Remove the machine and you have a fairly decent point 'n click, but with it, it's just one big failure. Thanks for trying though. Backround was good. Music was annoying. Atmosphere was suitable and light flickering was a nice touch.

was aright

coulda just smashed the fish tank and let the fish drown...the whack a mole battle system was a bit lame. nice story concept though

EvilKris responds:

Battle System is gone in the second game.

meh

It was okay, the hammer shit docked points from me. Wasn't really scary, even in the dark, was fun for a short time.

bug/glitch

Regarding the code to open the door: I took a screenshot of the doctor's papers to ensure I wasn't misreading the tiny numbers somewhat obscured by the word it was partially printed over. I zoomed in to where it was obviously 3526. I tried the combo in every row and backwards; nada, zero, zilch, zed, non. Rasberries to you, sir. Rasberries.

Flawed Premise

The game is animated with still images so you don't feel immersed in what is going on although the sound is decent enough to make at least a couple hairs stand on end. A passable interface accompanied with a... passable plot, both with room for improvement, however; the dialogue 'popups' interrupt the flow of the game as well as the constant repetition of the tutorial for a fight sequence - Click and hold over the red buttons that say 'HIT' - We get it.
The puzzles here are quite good but the major flaw is in Insanity's minigames. Along with the flow-breaking fight scenes, the minigames are poorly made, hard to control and generally not any ****ing fun. Very creepy story that had the chance to be an engaging saw-esque game but instead, here we have a tortured premise.
