Was this an art piece with an 'environmental' theme like justice for the environment in mind or just environment as in landscape environment?
So basically he's in the wilderness, there seems to be a grave, and a person on a horse near a campfire.
This piece looks nice, just a lil too dark for me to see much, but i think the way you captured landscape in the fog has been done well.

Thanks for the great feedback. I thought the lower half was a bit too dark myself but I needed to finish it without getting too carried away. I started off with a small thumbnail sketch with the idea of something close to the camera in the foreground. I haven't done many western themes or horses so I know I wanted to have some sort of subject relating to that and then a somewhat simple background. I messed with a lot of color options from real life reference until I got something that contrasted well with the rest of the image and the grave vs the light of day.
