Reviews for "TCT RPG"

A little honesty.

First off, This is a very well made and constructed game. I spent plenty of time playing it. I also searched almost every square inch of the world for items and things. Sadly though, since I have beat it, I can't find myself replaying it.

Second, The deal with the story. I read a review that says its a total rip off of earthbound. Well in all honesty i never got to fair on earthbound to compare, but this day and age. There is no such thing as a "new" idea. Change the names, art, mechanics, or everything and yet you still will wind up being able to compare it to something.

Third, about the music and colors. I get it, I understand it, but a couple parts are just a little too much. Like the final boss part and the scene that triggers midway. (trying to avoid spoilers) That could have been reduced a little in length. Just to top it off. A mute button wouldn't of hurt the game, or at least a volume setting.

Finally, about the game mechanics. I don't mind the Grid system. In fact I Like it. I don't even mind the power bar system cause it keeps you busy so you don't get bored with the game. HOWever... there part where that one monster can use a attack and make you press a button rapidly... more than annoying. That part i didn't like.

As for in the sequel, I would hope to see/hear more up beat music. The song maroon remorse made sense how it was. Its part of the story so i can understand. And just for fun, Add an old lady that turns into some big ugly thing. whats a RPG series without a crazy or monster granny.

Little note about a few things:

The ability: Brain Drain (you'll see it eventually) is a little rigged or broken i suppose. If you simple just hold down the buttons it says your keyboard will do all the work. This however does NOT work for the monster that attacks and makes you MAYBE have to rapidly press a button real fast.

Note for Author: your spell checker forgot to spell check the credits.

Sailor moon's: anouther adventure?
^oops?

A question about the battle theme.

Hey this is a great game but i got a question (see upper text) ive heard this song before at other sites but where has it come from? and is there a site to download the theme?

Thx for you're time

the color tuesday

pretty easy. just out of curiosity how many charactors are there? i got chadd, alex, paige (though i lost her at the end) bella, kyle. that leaves open 1 spot though which makes me curious if theres another charactor i missed somewhere...

FINAL BOSS HAS 1 BILLION HP. YIAZMAT IS JEALOUS.

Incredible from start to finish. The battle system is creative and strategic, the story is gripping and interesting, the characters are enjoyable, the music is great, and I'll never get over the voice-over battle transition theme.

I find it interesting that you used synaesthesia to drive the plot. Very clever. I noticed it early on, since someone close to me has it. It reminded me a lot of her. Because of that, I had a more personal connection than most would. I probably would have completed the game whether it was good or not just based on that. Also, I saw in the credits that "Karen Lee" was seperate from the rest, so I'm guessing the brother-sister relationship was inspired by real life, which is touching.

I noticed the game is very difficult. The battle system requires skill and strategy, and unlike most RPGs, you have to actually pay attention. No more fire-and-forget attack commands. Also, every character has a purpose, which you can decide to an extent. Although, their stats are similar enough to let you improvise in a pinch. I thought Chadd was useless until I learned his special skill actually healed HP, not status effects (which there is only one of). I didn't learn this until halfway through the final boss. Some in-battle skill and item descriptions would have helped, though it was easy enough to grasp (Food = HP, Candy = IP). Also, you had a lot of empty slots, which gave the impression they would be filled by endgame, but they weren't. Just a tidy-up issue, everyone has one.

While playing this game, I could sense the devotion in it, I can tell you put your heart in it. An admirable trait, and it will serve you well if you pursue a career in this. It's been a long time since I've seen that in a game.

Amazing plot, Brilliantly executed.

This is what RPG's are all about. With the exception of Mother 3, I haven't enjoyed an original (As in, not a remake or port) RPG as much as this one since their golden age during the SNES's reign. This is fantastic.
