Reviews for "THE.LIFT."

dont listen to the asshole under me >.>

i thought it was good its not always about entertaining people its about what the animator wants it to be 5/5 for your hard work nice job oh and keep it up dont let tools like him bring you down

What? No, no way.

Sorry, but this is a sign saying "LOOK AT ME BE REALLY ARTSY"

Seriously, you're trying WAY TOO HARD. Focus on being entertaining and maybe writing a script, not just on being different.

beccahyman responds:

Can't deny I like things arty, but I wasn't going for pretentious, i hate stuff like that. It was definitely overthought (now that i think about it...), so my next one i'll try not to try so hard. God, the irony.

well now

i usually rate kinda harshly or strict i suppose. but you're new to the game.

while mostly i would pick out all the flaws and put them all out on the table for you to fix, i like what you've done.

though it came about because of inexperience. the glitchy roughness and all that mixed with the style of the artwork gave it a real raw appearance. which in this case for this story i believe helped push the story across the the viewer more. at first i though that you might have a lot to work on and you do, but it turned out pretty damn alright for this flash. keep it up and hope to see more entries like this from you.

Strange.

Well uh.... I get the point, but as the guy before me said, its a weak point.
The animation is indeed unique, I like it. Keep up the good work on that, but try to think of something better for the script.

I'll probably forget about your animation tomorrow.

Here, let me use an exemple. Look at the great stuff that newgrounds has. Things that you will remember of:

The Composer
Breckenwood Series - Specially Waterlollies
Dare - Original and Remake
And other great movies...

What do they have in common? A point. A beautiful, strong, simple and easy to understand point. Something that makes you watch it over and over and never get bored.

Try something like that, mix up with your new artwork (work a little more on that) add some minutes to the animation.

With that you will defnatly get lots and lots of good reviews.

But cheers, nice music and nice drawing. And cheers again for the front page.

beccahyman responds:

This was a fair review.
Thanks for commenting on the uniqueness of the animation. I have actually seen all of those flashes, they're amazing. I'm new here but spent a couple of months browsing around first before uploading anything. I'm obviously nowhere near as good as those animators, but i will keep practising and practising because i want to get better. My plotlines have got to be bolder and more simplified is the general consensus from most reviewers, I think. Thanks very much for the advice, and I hadn't even realised i'd been front paged until i saw this comment. Timings are all weird because I live in London...

I loved the second ending.

The simplicity of your flash just makes everything better. It's beautiful.
