what's the name for the character movie clip?
If you get past the issues..
This would be great! I'm really liking the character animations, the running and movement looks smooth, but the only real technical problem I saw was a bad framerate dip. Fix that, and you'll be good. Sorry I can't help you with your death problem, but if you get that and refine the game, you'd have a nice platformer! I like it.

but i know how to use actionscript with movies and stuff if you need any help with that
any way i like what you've done so far keep it up ;D
you have 2 ways
you can load the death animation as new movie clip with the coordinates of your died player
or
you can make a isAlive var, only if this is true the controls work
thats how I would make it
