but in "real golf" you also just can't just restart a hole to get a better overall score ;) - I know it's really hard to get the golden anchor... I didn't want it to be that hard! But I can't change it now cause there really are players who earned the medal! And making it easier now would be like cheating on them...
It was neat.
I really enjoyed it, but I got pretty mad at the end when the game tells you that you can only get the low-shot achievements by not using a restart. The medals definitely didn't say that on the main page, so I just wasted a few minutes doing a run with exactly 25 shots with restarts.

Oh, sorry, you're right! for me (well - I developed it) it was clear that you aren't allowed to restart - never thought that the medals descriptions doesn't make it clear! Sorry the game "tricked" you :(
Help for the Frusterated
First off to the author, great way to take something simple and make it challenging, entertaining. and incredibly frustrating!! That being said this is a game that is easy to learn and hard to master.
So for everyone who wanted to scream when the ball didnt go in the freaking hole, im gonna pass on some advice for the communal progression of the game.
(These are my personal best just trying to give you an idea of what can be done they are ranked from HNDCP 1 being hardest to 8 being easiest)
Hole 1 (HNDCP 7)
Can be accomplished with one shot and still pick up 6 coins

Hole 2 (HNDCP 8)
Can also be accomplished with one shot although i can only get 3 coins

Hole 3
This one always takes me 3 shots-Normally get 7 coins...can probably get more

Hole 4 (HNDCP 6)
Easily done with 2 shots (cant figure out how to spare the damn crocodile, i think it has something to do with hitting the horizontal plank up but who knows!?)
Can normally pick up 4 coins sometimes more {{RT 159K-7 Shots}}
Hole 5 (HNDCP 2)
This one ideally only takes 3(up to the plank, knock the tree over, into the hole) shots but i almost always walk away with a 4/5
Normally get 4-5 coins

Hole 6 (HNDCP)
Another 3 shot for me...(one into the whale with the right angle, one up and out, final into the hole) 4-5 coins on average {{RT 229K-13 shots}}
Hole 7 (HNDCP 1) (THE BAIN OF MY EXISTENCE)
So i am sure you can get less than the this...but the best i have ever done is 5 (across the lava, up onto the ridge, into the fan, up the rock face, into the hole)
Someone said it earlier but yes search this level carefully there is a goody here!

Hole 8 (HNDCP 5)
Easy up and out with 3 shots here!
Total 21 shots over 250K YAY WE DID IT
Now if only i could make it happen without messing up.
Just a few hints. Separate your quests. Sometimes getting points is worth taking more shots. If you can pick up 4 coins its worth it to take the extra shot)
Either go for shots or go for points.
Secondly, get consistent. Learn your angles...keep practicing Holes one and two until you nail them both hole in ones. Its tough but it really takes the pressure off down the road for both points and shot achievements. Also learn how to always get your two shot from the croc level.
Finally, if you learn how to spare the damn croc let me know cause i want to scream trying to get this one!

Thanks four your great guide :) The mercy-thing: it really is a little tricky, you can get past the bridge without tumbling it down. I found a vid at youtube that shows it:
