Great graphics, but I sort of missed the ship's inertia when moving around, it hurt the gameplay, especially since you labeled this your tribute to an old game that did have that inertia.
And the music got on my nerves very quickly.
Other than that, very nice attempt!

Personally I've never liked the asteroids / thrust style inertia, I've always felt it was there as an attempt to pad out the ( Pretty limited ) gameplay, and you spend half your time battling the controls as you do the asteroids.
The music has split everyone, for everyone who likes it there's someone who leaves with bleeding ears. One of those things I guess.
three super-annoying things
1) inability to switch between weapons when I want to + difficulty in selecting exactly the power-up I want when running away from f*kers
2) f*kers spawning on top of you all the time
3) extremely annoying auto-pause

The powerups take so long to get to and the asteroids take so long to destroy that you're bored out of you're mind before getting any. It's just asteroids with upgraded graphics which is nothing new to the flash gaming world. I suggest making the powerups accessable sooner and having more of them.
0 ? I could have uploaded a blank swf and got the same score for a lot less effort.
As to it's lack of originality, I've kinda been open and said it is what it is. There's no pretense that it's anything more than asteroids.
I guess if you're after original gameplay then a homage to a nearly 30 year old arcade game isn't the place to find it.
