Reviews for "GUN & SWORD"

NICE!

Lol. Dude. Seriously. People are dumb. This is a great animation for adrenaline junkies!!

good movie

You know, I had various small issues with this animation but Confidence Pretty much summed them all up plus others. Mainly the powers getting raised higher and higher to seemingly no end without knowing what limits they have. It was still very good.

awsome awsome

awsome im glad that spade survide at hte ind

My comments

I saw this on the newgrounds frontpage and finally decided to watch it.
I had to watch it twice. The first time I wasn't impressed cause of a few things. So I read the reviews and comments. Than watched it a second time.
I think my only issue with it is the characters abilities.
I understand that it's an action movie and no story was needed, but thats what I thought was needed. When they started off with the pistol vs sword, it was great. The chain was neat but kinda weird. The red sword coming from the big sword was very cool. From that point on all I could say was "what?"
As they changed shape, summoned allies and destroyed parts of each other I didn't find myself impressed.
Camera angles and all that was great but the "constant rise to epicness"(as someone else called it, just didn't seem to impress me. It seemed as though there were no close calls cause both fighters could handle anything that was thrown at them. Lost an arm. No big deal. Lost a leg, Meh, just shift forms and get a new one. Get cut in half, thats ok, a part of me can still float and is still just as dangerous.
Im saying two things here.
1. There was no threat that either character had to worry about.
2. The abilities they had were very cool, but without understanding of the characters the abilities seem to have no meaning and were not special. Seemed like they could pull anything out of their hat to deal with anything thrown at the.
Let me explain #2 a bit more. If you watch Naruto, from beginning till end you know he can do shadow clone, Raigetsu and other abilities that he learned
and all that have limits. If Naruto suddenly was able to turn invisible and had the Sharingan ability that appeared from nowhere and they never explained it, Naruto would no longer be an interesting character. He could just have powers that pop out of nowhere at anytime.

Music was top notch. Art didn't impress me the first time. The second time I paid more attention and liked it, but a few things seemed out of place. Magnums jumpsuit was to plain for me. To much of the same color. Than again, Rock Lee from Naruto wears a jumpsuit.
The choreography of the characters was great. I love the close range gun fighting. Reminds me of the anime Grenadier. Beautifully done.

Now as for the comments on sword vs gun.
Yeah, NamiHADOKENS comments were ridiculous. This is a non-realistic animation.
but lets get serious here...If you think that a sword can beat a gun, than you need help.
If swords were better than bullets than we would still be using Swords in society today. While a sword can reflect/cut a bullet(I have seen the video of a Katana cutting a bullet) The human cannot possibly move a sword fast enough to block it. You've been watching to much anime if you believe that.
While everything comes down to circumstance, a person trained in a gun vs a person trained in a sword, the gun weilder will win.
You want to say "Yeah well what if the Gun weilder misses with all his bullets?"
Than I can say "yeah what if the swordsman misses every swing? What if the swordsman has no space to use his sword? What if the swordsmans sword breaks?"
Hell, Ive even trained with swords myself. You can add all the what ifs you want, but if a person has a gun, Major odds are your screwed.

Fucking godly.

I'm usually not a fan of the "Fight for no reason" but this just made it so unique.

Your animation was amazing, simply amazing. Great frame by frame work, you took on some odd angles and mastered them.

Great work.
