Good
It was good. Not amazing, but good. The illustration was nice, but the animation wasn't the best. The movements were a little stiff and mechanical. The music was good, but the lack of voice acting cost you a star.

I never saw the first version, but your skills with flash look VERY good, and I can see that you'll continue to put effort into refining your art.
My only critique would be to tweak the music to match with your animation--the music cuts out a couple seconds before the film ends, but it's not a big issue, just a small rouch edge that could be smoothed out.

Can't see
Gave you 3/5 for art and animation skill. But honestly, I couldn't see a thing that was going on with that color scheme. I understand it's dark, but everything blended in; I completely missed what happened at the end. (Being able to expand the movie might have helped a bit.) Also, the action cuts could have been a little more dynamic, getting in close rather than just watching from the sidelines.
Not bad at all, but it still needs work.

Nice enough
Well, this is nice enough, as far as animation goes, maybe a little more frames would have added smoothness to the overall feeling.
Still kinda anime induced, I'm afraid :)
Lots of work still, but already a lot done, so I would not be surprised to see longer, nicer animation from you soon.

Heh. When the idea came to me way back I imagined it as an anime styled short. I figured I'd stick with it. And im already in the process of developing another story. Hopefully no shorter than 3 munutes. But thats probably not gunna be finished till this time next year. (at the latest)
Hopefully Ill get a good start on it this summer. :)
