Very Impressive
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It had plenty of challenge to keep me interested for 2 full days. I would like to address some opinions about a couple of preconceptions I had with this game.
1. As much as I understand the idea behind not being able to kill guards ( so you can't just kill off the entire opposition, and that assassins are only paid for the target kill thus making them professionals and not just hired thugs.) but when bullets start flying professionalism should take a back seat to the more important goal of SURVIVAL.
now with that out of the way let me move on to my 2 real complaints.
2. The Complete and utter retardation of the "short bus" wanna be that is your target. Many times have I been carefully avoiding the ever watchful gaze of the guards when Einstein decides to come strolling up to say hello. I can only imagine the look on "short-bus's" face when he realizes that his pointless meandering has caused a large section of his neck to be replaced with a substantial amount of blood.
which leads to the next phase and my other problem with the game.
3. The Mission and Alert timers. Mission time? Mission time is from the word GO to the instant the body hits the floor. Patience may be a virtue but its not the highlight of any good game. And what kind of assassin waits 5 minutes after a kill to "get the hell out of dodge", not any of the good ones I would imagine. The way I see it, if you make to the extraction point unseen you've won. Anything else just seems like useless time filler that keeps you from tackling the next challenge.
Other wise the game was a very fun experience. The guards had a pretty solid difficulty level through out the game so after a while you would start to notice their patterns (random as they may be) and learn tactics to out wit them at almost every turn. After awhile the enemies took second fiddle to the design of the levels themselves, and thats personally what I find most fun. when a game becomes more focused on the level design for challenge and less on enemy level.
