Reviews for "Ultimate Tactics"

bugs, bugs, bugs

The game looks great but it's just so full of bugs... To add just a couple to those already mentioned:

1. I had to close the game once after encountering anaconda that could not be attacked in any way (it simply did not highlight in red and there was no response to clicking on it)

2. Magic ring magicly dissapeared out of my inventory after reloading game.

3. My mage was tought the spell of poison twice (it appears twice in the spell list)

4. In battle view I could not move to the square that was in my range (it did not highlight as well); clicking it moved my character elswhere (this happened twice)

5.Once I was able to hit a poison snake with a flame spell from 7 square distance.

6. After the battle I saw the "stage cleared" and "reward: 100g" panels. I clicked on "Athelat", then the "Inn" and saw the same two panels again and received the reward for the second time (I didn't mind extra gold, but it's still a bug)

You should really fix those and other bugs, because they make the game loose a lot.

Needs to Be Tightened Up

The basics of gameplay are solid. The movement and positioning systems work just fine, albeit a tad slowly. The score and the look both fit the theme.

Why a 7/10? Minor irritations add up to make me wanna stop playing.

1) You need to be able to scroll the map on large stages and rotate it on stages with lots of vegetation/objects on the field.

2) Victory music plays over stage and world music when it activates, and the effect is really unpleasant on the ears.

3) So slooooooooow. Part of this is too much of an HP to damage discrepancy, part is just the interface. Six clicks in various spots around the screen just for 1 basic attack and ending the turn is really too much. You can map these commands to keys and make actually playing much less of a chore.

As mentioned up top, aside from this it was well done. I loved the transition into battle, as it reminded me of one my old strategy RPG faves.

Good tatical game

a bit slow at times but not too bad. Reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics and Vandal Hearts. Picking direction should be after action, something you do at the end of your turn.

Pretty Good!

Very good, though it got glitchy after a while. Fix the glitches and you might have a 9.5/10.

Eh...

Not new at all, albeit still entertaining. I'm gonna keep playing.
