Reviews for "Picos Popcorn at the Park"

im glad

im glad that not everyone whats to get to the blood and random violence, somehow... it remembers me my childhood..

Lovely and whimsical.

So far I've only watched two Pico Day submissions, but personally I like this best.
It started off very whimsical--with music that coalesced very well with the meaning (I liked the music too!--which is why I had some hopes about this).
The comedy style reminds me of Tom and Jerry--censored, soft violence, no gore, no talking but only background music and SFX--and I agree with what Xalyx has said, it brings up a bit of nostalgia of Saturday cartoons.
Along the lines of originality points, although the looks were altered, Pico, Nene, and Darnell were still their own little characters.

Such a charming and different short for Pico.

Picos Popcorn at the Park is so original and cute in its own violent, adorable way. It starts with Pico wanting popcorn, popcorn getting stolen by Nene, Darnell hitting on Nene to get the popcorn, and Pico getting his revenge. Simple concept with a very unique delivery. It has such an old school feel to you that you may even get nostalgic while watching and forget it's for a Pico Day this year. The music just adds to that nostalgia with a musical score that I'm sure will sound familiar in style to people who know of the sort of old school like animation. This is a worthy component to Pico Day and glad I got to see it.

*Side Note*

For people who are saying this is no "Pico" need to realize something. What is Pico? Violence? Shooting up schools? White guy with orange hair? Black guy with black, curly hair? Asian girl with violent tendencies? No. Pico is subjective. Why do you think there is even a Pico Day? Have you SEEN other submissions? No one really has kept a "Pico" style but instead graced the page with their own adaptations of Pico. There is no set Pico. You draw him and animate him how you want. This IS "Pico", whatever that even means. This is how the author depicted him, and did an incredible job at that. Don't generalize animation series from how they started, but just look at where they're going..

And, I am touched :) Thats how i felt about the day, but many of the people on here have other opinions on how the animations for this day should be. I really appreciate ya kind words.
