Reviews for "Red Moon"

Frustrating as always. >_<

This game is a definite 10 in my standarts, mainly because of the concept and all.
But the gameplay mechanics in general could definitely be polished a bit. Dont know how possible that is without revamping the mechanics totally. (Im guessing its the same engine as in Armed With Wings?)

The last achievement seems hard as hell. I wont even try.
Maybe some other time...

Heres a tip: You dont really need ALL red orbs to get the orb achievement.
Some seem impossible to get anyway.

And no achievement seems to be bugged for me. Ive got all except the last one which is just hard to get.

FULI2

Sadly this reminds me of Fear unlimited, only it is reliable in what it does. To me it seems that we will get more fighting games like Fear unlimited. Though I can't expect much from games on Newgrounds. So I guess, all I can leave is, this is a better game than FULI2, the achievements are easy, even the red orb if you hold down X.

After the halfway there point. I did have some trouble. With the lag of my computer while playing this it got too plat former to me. Though this could probably be reduced with a quality lowering, so that is no biggy.

This game is an average game, nothing special. If you are looking for a plat former go to Fancy Pants Adventure, unless you heard of it, then all I can say is we probably won't get any super awesome plat formers for a while.

Hmm.

I have to say that this was very well put together, and the inclusion of medals was very cool. The Concept Art medal was glitched, however, and I never received it. The art was fantastic as were the sounds. The controls and gameplay kept it simple but made it better at the same time. 10/10, 5/5.

Pretty good

It was virually appealing and the pace wasn't bad either. probably what bothered me the most was my tendency to slide around on the ground. It killed me more times than I care to admit to. I also thought the combat was a little too simple. For the most part I just charged an enemy and held down the attack button. some of the largest enemies required a small bit of hit and run. Even the king was succeptable to the holding down the attack button, though he could get out of it after a short time.
the music was amazing but I was kinda wishing there was a little more in the background to help make the music fit a little.
Anyways, I really liked it. Great job

Fantastic

Freakin' enthralling game here. This is probably my favorite game graphics-animations wise that I've seen in flash, I love the shadowy figures and textures that compliment the well polished, grim backgrounds. Sets a great ominous tone, which then compliments the rather morbid story itself. Animations were flawless. Visuals were overall great!

Superb selection of music- I like how you included tracks with the orchestrated worldly vibes, and spiced up the soundtrack with electronically influenced music as well. Fits like a glove.

Story was decent, not amazing but gripping so far, havent finished the game yet and I'm hoping for not a generic ending.

Beneath the fluff however, the gameplay was mediocre at best- while the learning curve was simple, and the jumping ideas was a nice touch, and it was fun hitting your enemies off edges causing 'em to plummet to their deaths, their wasnt much of a fighting system. You had what? three of four attacks, and enemies (atleast were) I'm at were ridiculously easy to kill. Hack and slash is good, but I would definetly like to see a larger array of moves, like throwing, kicking, and a jumping move where you slam down into your enemy would be great. Maybe even have ninja stars or something that you can throw. The "quick" attack wasnt that quick, as the slashes were a bit lethargic to the point were it was hard to stop in the combos and get a better control over your character. Speaking of control- the running is smooth, but the jumping controls could be improved. It was hard to choose between double jumping and wall jumping, the movement between left and right was quite rigid, making some of the obstacles more frustrating thatn they should be.

But it really wasnt that bad- the audio and visuals were a strong enough saving grace to make this a gem that I will continue to play.
