Reviews for "Megaman X: RPG Chapter 0"

Wow

I really enjoyed this game and cant wait till the next chapter. One thing though, I think if you learn the skills on your battlechips, you should keep the skills, but if you take it off, the master bonus goes away, that way, you have a reason to keep the chips on. Other than that, I really enjoyed it. I love RPG's and Megaman X, so you took my favorite two things and pushed them together :D

nice, great intro but

needs more variety, and the combat is kind of slow. An active battle system wouldve made this game a 10 for sure
good for a flash game though
and the intro was great i never knew megaman series had such an intricate plot!

ChamberACR responds:

There actually is an active battle system in the game. Go to options, scroll to the last option "Active Battle" and enable it.

As for the story, well... the X series doesn't have a very intricate plot as much as a convoluted one. I'm not going to change anything prior to X8 and follow canon as closely as possible, but I am going to make this story what, I envision, is a realistic follow up to the series.

wellll

it froooooze *cries* but i can tell its a good game besides that and u are in the middle of fixing them so ill give u a good score anyways

Amazing

I never had a real reason to register for NewGrounds until I came across this and decided to register if only to vote and comment on this game. The graphics, SFX and game engine are perfect!

Putting good things aside, I had an issue with the game's balance. For example, mastering the Basic Chip takes 95 Tech points and grants you the Spark Burst attack which is far superior than Chiil Gale and Minor Nox with the minor cost of 10SP compared to CG and MN's 7SP. Furthermore, mastering the Gutman Chip will give Zero a mere 10% Strength (My level 16 Zero has 88 Str so approximately adds 8 to Str) while giving X a whooping 100 Str (Double than the amount I had at the time I mastered the chip). You ought to play with the bonus to give the game a better sense of balance.

I won't elaborate much on the "Controls" part that you've miseed, I'm sure other comments sufficed. I'd just like to say that as a normal player I usually go to the options menu first to look for controls. When I got there I wanted to leave but to no avail (Was not aware of the "Backspace" button at that time). Eventually I had to refresh the game and start playing without changing to higher resolution nor disabing the music/sound.

On the other hand, I loved the achievements but some are extremely hard to pull off (Achieved "Blue Balls... Of Steel!" by mere luck). Overall I got 11 achievements thus far... any hints? Someone? :P

Overall, it was a great game and I cannot wait to play the next chapter. 5/5 10/10 as this game deserves. Good work, man. :)

ChamberACR responds:

Wow, thank you positive feedback; that's very flattering. I'll try and tweak the Battlechips to make them a little more balanced, although to be fair, I didn't expect so many people to power level, and, to a lesser extent, actually enjoy the game. I'm glad I was wrong on both counts.

As for the rewards, I'll just say this much: You can't get them all on this first chapter. Honestly, I'm impressed you got 11 without any help. Some of those are pretty random... ;)

AGH!

Whens the next one coming out?
I'm ALREADY anxious for the next part lol
