great, but with flaws
okay, the reason im giving 8 is because amongst the whole "terrain can't be worn down with normal shots" thing, this is really annoying when i have to play through a level 50times and hope a fully upgraded burrow bomb doesn't come my way, because right after that a nuke comes hurtling towards me and kills me, through this huge f'ing spike thing they seem to like making, other than that i think its a solid game
Sharp Learning Curve
It's one of the best games I've ever played on this site. The only problem that I have with the game is that the time limit is a little tight especially on the later levels. It's annoying when you just released a big weapon only for your opponent to bubble his base before it hits, negating the attack. But still, the music and the graphics were nice, the gameplay is great, and it's definitely a good game.
Very Epic
I very much enjoyed the story that was being told, but I didn't really see what that had to do with the gameplay. It doesn't matter though.
The game was pretty cool. There was a lot of options for strategy, but very little time during the game to implement. switching between bunkers got confusing and you had to be really fast in order to survive. I ended up sticking with the pellet guns through the whole thing because the fast pace demanded an insane reaction time with the other weapons and defenses. The scoring system kept it from getting boring; I love seeing money rack up all rapid fire style.
It looked cool (nukes were badass and music added epicness), played kinda alright, and had a pretty good story. Just slow the pace down next time and make the other weapons a little bit better. They all seemed like rip-offs compared to the ultra cheap and reliable pellets.

I found a killer strategy for it, cos I'm awesome like that.
One problem though:
The Super Thumper is shit compared to the Thumper :S, even with both fully upgraded. It's actually not worth as much, let alone 5x more.
Triple the damage it does, then we're talking.

this game was a lot of fun and much like you said it starts easy but then gets harder. however, it isnt impossible to beat. you almost make it too easy for the fact that the right strategy and quick hand will cause victory. PLUS, you give cash for losses and unlimited continues.
newgrounds idiots want to blame a game maker for program not working in their config. SCREW YOU! upgrade f**kers! also, dont give low rating cuz you arent good at games.
anyway, great job. simple, but good graphics and gameplay. music is cool. i look forward to updated versions.
MY GUIDE FOR WINNING

for the record, my guide to winning is to max out base weapon ASAP. next, save up for the 2nd shield. max that out.
next, buy super thumper and max out as you go along.
as you fire on other enemies, switch to thumper when loaded and strike, then back to regular gun. you can get two rounds of this in which kills an enemy or two and then use shield (it'll be charged by then). continue attacks this way.
as boards get harder, buy new bunkers and do same weapon lineup. when all three bunkers are done, buy mini nukes, cuz they load faster.
i also HIGHLY recommend EMP after this to destroy any incoming fire and nukes (it works really fast).
the game is not hard at all with this combo. you may run outta time and draw on some boards, but you will BARELY lose.
